Boing! Boing!
Anyways, this idea I've got, it's for a complicated kind of "tile ownership" idea. I mean, we can "buy" (see below) the tiles and our family-clan interests can be set on the properties we own (i.e. senor calamari would require the cow east of Madrid.)
And tile-owners could convince Senor Fernandez (oliverfa?) to send the worker to their tile to improve it.
As for "buy"ing the land, here's basically (I think) how it was done in teh different ages:
Ancient - just Claiming it (and then if you want someone else's land it's decided by the sword, I guess)
Midieval - Claiming and that system with the kings over lords over dukes over knights over serfs or whatever that is.
Industrial - Claiming, I guess, and buying
Modern - Buying
Maybe Grand Despot Togas can limit the number of tiles owned (except for himself of course ) to let everyone get a grab at the land.
If this proposal passes, I'll say that I want the square SE of Madrid (the forested plainland) because it has both access to the river and the ocean (or at least the ocean through the river ).
And later in teh game when we hit those useless Arctic tiles (whatre they called again? ) I can claim them all
And then sell the Oil to the government for outrageous prices (this all being OOC of course)
I can keep maps of what land everyone owns
Is this too complicated? It wouldnt seem that way.
(And oh yeah the ocean has plenty of Squid )
