Cistogon XIII
Cistogon XIII (and all the rest of them) are completely imaginary. Right now our leader is Decedro Togas.Originally posted by Aidun
Perhaps somebody who's better in English than I am should ask our most honoured leader Cistogon XIII to enter his service

My idea is to give us a more realistic history as background. It might not be working
Since the generations are flying past at this stage of the game we would either have to live as long as Methuselah or change roles every five minutes
to actually play history. The first is not realistic and the second is too tiring
The only tie my annals have right now with the actual roleplayers is that I am using the name Decedretego a lot until Togas gets tired of being Decedro and decides to be something else. As the game periods grow shorter, the ruler lists will increasingly match up with what we are really doing and who is really running the game.
However, if people want to write stories and poems about Gartzogi VII, be my guest.
And it would be neat to say to the other teams in passing that we discovered the existence of silk in 3500 BC during the reign of Cistogon VI, or better yet, sign a treaty with the name of my current imaginary ruler

"...and Gartzogi Bristle-beard (for that t'was his name) seized his Foe-Hammer, and he, with all his might, borne of rage, seized with wrath, boiling with angry at the foul treachery before him, raised the axe on high, mightily above his head, cutting the very air, severing the sky, and knifing the heavens, which blackened above him, as dark thunder-roar broke above him, and rain-water trickled from the sky. Brodgar Worm-whistle broke away, seized with panic, horror-striken, dumb-founded, terrorized, and the axe came down, shattering bone-skull..."

"Arnold Schwarzenneger will appear as the title roles in two major blockbuster historical epics this month: Gartzogi Bristle-beard and Gandhi."

HistoryGuy, your next epic should be about the evil Eustogkaro I (180-192), the third son of Togatxall I, who arranged for a hunting accident for his little nephew Togatxall II, waited for his brother Eneretogo IV to die (so as not to seem suspicious), then poisoned his other little nephew Eneretogo V, and then was poisoned in his turn by his son Cistogon I who just got tired of waiting for the old man to die.
It explains why Eustogkaro is not a popular name.

And then there was the curse that Brodgar Worm-whistle’s wife put on the House of Togas, that brother should succeed brother and reigns should be short and accidents and deaths should happen forever. But an Egyptian priest in the scouting party used mysterious Egyptian magic to lift the curse in the reign of Decedretego IV.Originally posted by History Guy

Senor Pikesfan, I have begun the work. There will be eight parts, and the later parts will be pretty violent, because of the stuff with Enerotogo getting in the hunting accident (four arrows, I think it was) and the Hastragal Gisgar and Petronius stuff (stabbed alot...). I am doing them in the fashion and style of the Nordic sagas. Hope you appreciate them.

I love it! Where do you find the time? However, future historians are going to say that Eustogkaro I was just misunderstood and the saga is unreliable as it doesn’t fit the chronology
Togatxall I
126-140
|------------------------|--------------------------|
Antogasso I Eneretogo IV Eustogkaro I
140-165 169-180 180-192
| | |
Togatxall II Eneretogo V Cistogon I
165-169 180 192-226
... which now that I look at it seems rather unlikely as Eustogkaro Horseface would be quite old when he at last took the throne...
but let’s see how the saga turns out. Maybe I can shorten the reign of Eneretogo IV and give more years to Eustogkaro I. Or just think of it as a saga which is not supposed to be a serious history.

The poets as well as the tales? Imagine: we have written literature before we have even discovered writing!
Not very roleplay but it doesn't matter i think. I'm going to pick out a king to make a song about. Brave heroic deeds it should be. A little like the Gilgalad-song of middle-earth.
