    BetaHound> hello
Prez_GK> hi - just wanted to give you a lowdown on the RP team
Prez_GK> looks like if you want, we can connect Iron in 3 turns and sell it to you.
    BetaHound> That would be great.
BetaHound> But we do not have much to offer in return.
BetaHound> Engineering in 16 or so turns.
Prez_GK> It would be a sale. Also, to try and keep an embargo, we would give a luxury to GS.
BetaHound> Gow is still on-side. As are Lego. Still wondering about the quiet NeuD.
    BetaHound> ?? DSon't understand.
    BetaHound> embargo
Prez_GK> We are anticipating an attack from them once they get their UU
    BetaHound> ??
    BetaHound> NeuD?
Prez_GK> Well, in an embargo in civ3, the two nations trading a comodity must be at war with the blocker. So to keep them from going to war with us, we would give them a lux.
Prez_GK> ND - sure. wouldn't you attack us if you were them and had your uu.
BetaHound> Yep - you are probably right. What about GoW? Where do they stand. On the sidelines?
Prez_GK> that is the big ???
BetaHound> Hmm - I get along well with H-E, P32, and MZ. Anything I can do?
Prez_GK> we think they will either sit on the side, or attack ND once ND has committed against us and has few troops on the border with them.
BetaHound> btw - we had asked for horses from NeuD. No answer yet.
Prez_GK> Not really. I am just chatting as a friend, nothing official. If you want iron, come up with a proposal and send it to Togas.
BetaHound> OK - understood. We were sort of hoping that other civs would see the value in us continuing the war against GS - and thus providing support.
BetaHound> But if you expect aggression from NeuD soon - I see your problems.
Prez_GK> We have lots of opposition to sending you the units we promised, because of the ND issues.
BetaHound> hmmm - that is good to know. As we have some serious decisions at home as well.
BetaHound> If we can make peace with GS, we may be able to help you with NeuD.
BetaHound> And to let you know - we are discussing peace options with GS>
    BetaHound> Keeping all avenues open.
Prez_GK> Thanks for the info. Later.
    BetaHound> ditto. later

First, stand proud and say "Here is Iron, now survive and if possible prosper." This will counteract the "sneak" factor each team suspects us of. Just give it and say, "yep, we gave it. So what. What we got in return is a fair deal."

Second, at the same time we give iron, GS will declair war on us. They have to in order to attempt a blockaid. That is the way Civ3 works. But what if we give them something so as to not cause a blockaid? What if we send them some luxurie. I am sure we have an extra one or two. Just offer it to them free. If they question it, say that it is part of the iron deal. They get a lux to keep the iron flowing. If they feel that Iron is so important that they still want to declair war - so be it. They loose also.
Why is nobody of you reading my posts, I am but glad that GodKing repeated my confusion strategy and that he succeeded to bring it to your attention. Confusing them is a good strategy.

If it confused us imagine how much it will confuse them!

Good plans GK. My only Q left is how useful Iron will actually be to Vox.

Iron will allow them to build Pikemen and Immortals. Otherwise they will be limited to Spearmen and Archers. Without Iron, they will be wiped out.

I actually hope that GS demands too much for peace with Vox; I want to see this war continue past the point of GS's GA, which sould be ending soon.

If GS is offering peace, what kind of shape are they in to have to do so???

Thanks GodKing, I'll try to be more clear in the future. I a learning strategies for the international politics in my study. The international politics is very, very like to the interteam politics in this game.

Perhaps some of the strategies I describe seem very clear to me but not so clear to you. Please ring a bell if you don't understand it, I like to explain it if it is for Spains sake.
