I heard that they found Senor GodKing dead. However, this was dismissed as a rumor. Any truth to it, at all?
As far as I know he is still alive. The only way he could be dead is if someone somehow followed my boat and killed him, for when I arrived at the island it was clear that he could survive there for a long time.

[ooc]You're the Plague Rat, why don't you just give him plague?[/ooc]
Due to this trial, sudden paranoia grips Spain...persons calling everyone witches and warlocs....did we go wrong? Did we not punish GodKing enough, or were we too harsh on him? I think now that he needed to be burnt...he has obviously left here in Spain another to do his work.

        Senor Mitchell,

Yes, madmen are spreading rumors without evidence of witches. I have nothing to suggest, other than to find the originators of the tales, and put them in a bag and toss them in a well, or something... Just kidding!

As it is, Senor GodKing was not dealt with harshly at all. What was the court to do? Release him, to continue spreading his heresy? Ah well. The matter is finished now, thank heavens. Let us all continue to live as we have.

        Senor de la Civ,

I am very pleased that you are so sure of this. Some fishermen sent a message that they'd identified his body floating off-shore, but I suspect they were mistaken. They're bringing it along, though, just so we can positively identify the poor wretch, whoever he was.

As it is, the beacon fires are lit to guide them into Giant's Crossway.

[a letter is placed on the Pope's desk in the Vatican]

          Your Holiness,

This morning, as the beacons were lit to bring the fishermen into Giant's Crossway, a humble fisherman by the name of Jorge Madero walked onto the shore, carrying a large glass jar. He immediately asked for an audience with the King. He was shaking uncontrollably.

Tariff officers were immediately aboard, followed by the fishmongers. The fish were dragged off the ship for the marketplaces, but the tariff officers found in the Great Cabin a body lying on the sea chest, covered in tarp. The body was of a man about the age of Senor GodKing, who as you shall recall was exiled to a far island in the Eastern Ocean.

There were no wounds on the body from the feet up, but the neck ended in a grisly sight. Indeed, what was grisly was that the neck didn't technically end, at least not as it naturally should. You see, sir, the head was missing, hacked off by a broadsword as carried by all officers of the Spanish army and the Swiss mercenary force.

That was not all. King Togas saw the man Madero, and this man showed him the jar. Preserved in brine was the head of Senor GodKing, the convict.

As you can tell, this is quite a shock. The only boat reported in the sound yesterday was that of Senor de la Civ, the paladin, returning from the voyage. It is his duty to ship all prisoners from one place to another. Senor GodKing was already in his custody, as placed at the beginning of the trial by Senor Torquemada. The fishermen found his body the evening that Senor de la Civ left the island.

This case perplexes all. What should be done by the Inquisition? I suggest a full inquiry be launched into this. If Senor GodKing was murdered in transit, it would mean that the verdict of the Inquisition was defied.
