  • Is GodKing an heretic ?

His name alone is a provocation.

He made fun with the laws of the Church already published.
So, more than one husband is OK. Guess the girls will like that.
He has confessed publicly that he deserved to be burned at the stake.
You do realize that I expect to be burned at the stake at least several times now, don't you?
GodKing is a perfect example of heresy by a man proud to be heretical.
The evil influence of such a demoniac guy on the Spanish people cannot be overestimated. It has to be ended as soon as possible.
I therefore respectfully suggest that the GodKing case be the first considered by the Holly Inquisition when the necessary laws will have been promulgated.
    Statistical anomaly.

Wow, you are right. I second this motion. I will notify the Pope of this immediately!

You mean we haven't yet got an Inquisition organized? Tut, tut... if I had been elected Pope, we would have had one long ago, and GodKing would be ashes in the wind.

          Sure. We need some drama...

Catbert and Dogbert would probably make good character witnesses against him if the church held a mock-trial...
"The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise with the occasion. As our case is new, so we must think anew and act anew. We must disenthrall ourselves, and then we shall save our country." -- Abraham Lincoln

I've already seen him lurking about hunting walruses and tending sheep. I'm afraid that, despite his many excellent qualities, he is a heretic, and thus I fear the Devil must be using him. The trial, Don Torquemada, must be held in all fairness. There is more evidence to be gathered, I've seen it. Look around. If Senor GodKing...I can barely say his heretical name...is truly what you say, than I am afraid the Most Holy Inquistion must take whatever actions it can to protect the Church from such degrading influences.

*cough* Where are the laws? I've been waiting for them for...years!

Trials made by the Inquisition, auspiciously inspired by the Holly Church, will certainly be different from any secular trial. As a matter of fact, the difficulty will not be to establish the culpability, to judge and to have the sentence executed. It will not be to demonstrate at each step the greatest fairness (which will be held in its most perfect state in the custody of the Holly Church). It will be to bring the culprit to repentance. We want to save his soul; we must never forget this fundamental obligation. And the final difficulty will be to make sure that this repentance is sincere, otherwise we would have accomplish nothing.

If Saint Catbert and Saint Dogbert have any helpful idea on these delicate matters, I would gratefully receive them, as well as all those of our wise Cardinals.

Sts. Catbert and Dogbert? I suppose through prayers they may guide you, but as saints they are, physically, well, dead. So, perhaps you may ask instead for the assistance of several very holy and faithful Cardinals. I mean, of course, Cardinal Biggles and Cardinal Fang.

And I fully agree with your wise statements, Senor Torquemada. The soul must be saved.

If GodKing is a heretic, then I suppose I'm a condiment maker?

I ask the religious leaders of Spain to spend their time more wisely than accusing innocent people.

How many of our cities have Temples? Why isn't the church campaigning for more? Is the church content to let the rich people of Spain relish their luxuries, thereby raising the average happiness, while the poor and truly unhappy are ignored?

I had the impression that many religious men were wise men or at least in close connection to wise men. Do you have an explanation as to why Spain is flailing, scientifically? Perhaps too much time is spent deciding who shall be Pope and searching for heretics...

Perhaps you would care to note, Master Dejon, that the Church isn't particularly in favor of a violent Inquisition. I ask for it moderately in order to protect the Church. I do not ask for burnings or torture. I ask for, as Torquemada says, the conversion of these poor souls. I ask that they not speak their heresies for the wrongs they do against future generations who may see their falsehoods for truths. The Pope has no taste for the Inquisition at all. Who asks for violent Inquisition?

As for science, what point have you? I dare say, none. Are the men of the Church supposed to be scientists, now? We hold no official positions in the government, we do not decide how things are run. Why launch such words at us? Do you not know what you say? Is it the fault of the Pope that the Chinese have not given us the Feudalism we ask for? Is it the fault of the Pope that there is much spending and little research? Why, then, do you suggest that it is?

I ask the Pope to drop charges against Senor GodKing. I have reason to suspect that he is alone in his "wanderings" and is doing no harm to anyone. His children are wise, they know that he is misguided. Let us but pray for his soul, and the souls of all those who live in Spain.

And besides, the mustard you make isn't bad at all!

I am referring to the fact that historically, many of the world's ancient philosophers and scientists were also men of the church.
