  • Amendment I to Ye Ol' Document

A poll option must have a majority (> 50%) in order to be taken as an official decision. A run-off is to be taken of the top 2 options in the case of a poll where no option has a majority.

Great idea. Dammit. That was the shortest vacation I've ever had.

NO! There is still a problem. What to do in the city case.

ADD: When there are more than two possible options to have a run-off between. The proper minister chooses which two options will be used starting with the one(s) that got the most votes.

Interesting... I read the city thread before this and came to more or less the same conclusion.

              EDIT: two more points:

              1) Please keep the poll options on a more "neutral" tone: no one is seriously going to vote for the option "ANARCHY!".

              2) I take it you mean a majority of the votes cast, not the majority of all team members. What about "abstain" votes? (say, 3 choose A, 1 chooses B, 1 chooses C, 4 choose to abstain - will A be chosen? I say 'yes' (3 out of 5, not 3 out of 9))

I agree with status, some polls are unlikely to have a majority (i.e. the city poll). In that case have a runoff. I prefer to have a majority of all members approve things...

Meh... someone can write a 'follow-up' amendment to this one. I can't really change it in mid-poll.
