A poll option must have a majority (> 50%) in order to be taken as an official decision. A run-off is to be taken of the top 2 options in the case of a poll where no option has a majority.

Interesting... I read the city thread before this and came to more or less the same conclusion.
EDIT: two more points:
1) Please keep the poll options on a more "neutral" tone: no one is seriously going to vote for the option "ANARCHY!".
2) I take it you mean a majority of the votes cast, not the majority of all team members. What about "abstain" votes? (say, 3 choose A, 1 chooses B, 1 chooses C, 4 choose to abstain - will A be chosen? I agree with status, some polls are unlikely to have a majority (i.e. the city poll). In that case have a runoff. I prefer to have a majority of all members approve things...Citizen of the Apolyton team in the ISDG
