    The situation with Invictus is as follows:

    * In 7 turns, it will grow to size 3;
    * In 6 turns, it will try to build a settler.

    Of course, we'll not be able to build a settler when the city is still at size 2, so it will be delayed one turn.

    There are two options: wait the extra turn, or use it to build something in. A warrior will require 2 turns to build, so if we switch in the next turn, we'll build the settler 8 turns from now, 1 turn after Invictus has grown. I think we will keep the extra food accumulated in that turn.

    The advantage is that we can immediately start working on a Granary after the settler, thus maximizing our growth capabilities. The spearman can go with the settler, while the new warrior can stay in Invictus.

    The drawback is that we'll have 5 units (6 with the settler) while only 4 are allowed. This'll cost us some upkeep.

    Please post your ideas!

    I say build a warrior first, only because is you use the spearman to escort the settler, there will be no units in Invictus. If you then built a granary, it will grow to size 3 before the next settler can be built, forcing us to use an entertainer until that settler is built. The other option is to bring one of the two warriors in the field back to Invictus before it reaches size 3.

        I'd like to have the settle out ASAP, even though it may waste a turn, but we may need the warrior to accompany the settler anyway... so to warrior before settler.
        :-p

          With GoW nearby, we need that settler out as fast as possible... no building any warriors or anything like that to slow us down.

            Too late. We built that warrior in 3200 BC.
