  • AdmiralPJ for Foreign Minister

I hope AdmiralPJ doesn't hate me for nominating him, but I've read many of his posts. He comes off as a gentle, non-biased individual with well-qualified and intuitive thoughts. In short, with a little nudging when he needs to be more aggressive, he'd be perfect. His posts read like the perfect poker face.

This is my opinion, and maybe I don't have the complete picture. However, we need to fill this position, and this team mate seams to be the most qualified IMHO. Others of similar talents have expressed their desire not to be considered....maybe that's just one more qualification for this job-HUMILITY.

If you've read AdmiralPJ's posts and respect him for his non-biased opinions and humble understanding of history and deplomacy, then vote yes!

Yes, AdmiralPJ can do it! If he can't then nobody can!

Vote with me, and complete the government!

Note: If there are no strong objections from AdmiralPJ, then all we need is a majority. If AdmiralPJ really hates this idea, then I extend my sincerest apologies, and he could then be removed from consideration.

    So show him your support!!!

You can nominate him all you like, if he gets enough votes he will be a valid candidate, but if the person himself doesn't want to be nominate it will be nulled.

      my vote =

Exactly Calc, I know he would be great, I haven't heard from him here specifically in the past few days, but I fealt he warranted at least a "nudge" At anyrate, if he doesn't want it, I am not going to force him to take it.

The PJ is back with his war of words

Sorry I've not been here for a few days, I couldn't get in as I had to find my password for my account again ( the cookie password system had been cleared on this crappy old computer.. getting an upto date computer in a couple of weeks, my p3 plays civ3 fine though)
I'm still psyched up and excited to go on this game. wow only about 3 days to go, have we got everything set up?

I'll put myself forward as Foreign minister formally as of now..
Us brits are meant to be good at diplomacy anyhow (i'll need to look that word up in the dictionary )

Its going to be 2 weeks or so before they get PTW over in this Medieaval country , so I can't pratically be war or city minister .

I don't know how much Foreignness there will be to minister early on, but I'm sure we'll meet a couple of natives with bizarre eating habits, in our many adventures.

I hope some of the perks of the job will be to marry lots of exotic foreign princesses

It looks like diplomacy early on may involve some bribing and trading to keep our civ out of trouble (wars) and to buy any techs we can. Until we get harbors or some road networks goods trading won't be an option, but I'll try my best to get proper embassies set up (espionage may be useful in this game.. tech stealing etc)

I vow to act democratically , and take on board any ideas/complaints/discussions.

Have any other members shown interest in this post?
I'm sorry if i'm jumping the gun.. i'll help out any way i can.

            Awesome.

Guess that means PJ must be some kind of pushover eh? Is that who we really want?

At least this early in the game you won't need to have the game to conduct the job, so that's a good thing. Making sure we establish positive relations with as many teams as we can early on will be a good thing... An old adage that I myself came up with... "It's better to have a friend of any sort than an enemy".

Oh it will be crucial. A lot of weight will be placed on your shoulders. You will be setting a first impression for many of other teams. Good luck!

Perhaps if capture the princess mode is on, we can actually kidnap them and hold them hostage

EDIT: Oh and admiral, you might as well as start appointing diplomats for each teams. You pretty much won this election thru deafult. You can appoint yourself as a diplomat if you'd like.

Hey trip, do we need to set up a special Foreign minsitry channel? or will anything do.

Its a shame there don't seem to be any viking civs for you to spy on StatP,
you will be Ambassador for the third civ we come across, OK?
Calc can be Ambassador to the second civ we come across.
And I'll be Ambassador to the first civ we come across, OK?

I'll talk about Ambassadors/Diplos more in my Foreign Minsitry channel.

I hope we can research Writing soon, then we can steal techs, as well as make embassies and find out useful map info on their home cities (get screenshots of any cities we spy on)
It will be especially useful if we have lots of sea and need map making(seafaring) .. The Lighthouse is a nice wonder to have for super galleys that can travel seas. Galleys are great for moving troops (can even move wheeled units around quickly and past mountain ranges), and will be needed for defending our seas.

But we do need horsemen to find the other civs as our priority (swordsmen are vital also).

Orchestrating tech deals will be your most important job for now...

Make sure you make that your priority. We need all the advantages we can get.
