  • State of the State Report

Ok, as we are entering a new term of a new government, I thought it might be good to just put up a general reporting of the overall state of our lands. This is just hard data, mostly for historical record.
I make movies. Come check 'em out.

Legoland State of the State Report: 2110 BC

    Domestic Overview

    Capital: Legopolis
    Government: Despotism
Land Area: 5200 sq. miles (1st in the world)
Population: 113,000 citizens (4th in the world)
    # of Cities: 4

The people of Legoland currently enjoy the position of being the largest empire in the world in terms of sheer land area, though our population lags behind. Our known lands show us to be living isolated on a vast island, which gives us plenty of room for expansion, though may hinder our contacts with other peoples of the world.
We still live under our old despotic ways, as no one has yet thought of any alternatives.

Our four cities are currently undergoing periods of rapid growth, which bodes well for the future. Workable lands and ready food sources insures steady growth for the near future. Currently, our glorious Palace is our only civic structure, but plans in motion will change that in upcoming years.

    Current Research: Map Making

Thanks to massive funding of our research programs, as well as the gifts of a few wise tribes, our scientific knowledge is growing at a good, solid pace. Our map making endevours, when complete, will allow us to cross the seas that contain us, and hopefully gives us access to new peoples with which to share knowledge with.

    Military Overview

    Standing Forces: 8 units
    -4 Warriors (1/1/1)
    -1 Archer (2/1/1)
    -3 Num. Merc. (2/3/1)
    Elite Units: 1
    Veteran Units: 0
    Regular Units: 6
    Conscripts: 1
    Civilian Units: 3 units
    -1 Settler
    -2 Workers
    Max Supportable Units: 16
    Current Army Support: 0/turn
    Units in Production:
    -Num. Merc./Jackson/8 turns
    -Num. Merc./Panama/9 turns
    -Worker/Farmerville/5 turns
    Garrisoned Cities:
    -Legopolis
    -Jackson
    -Farmerville
    Non-garrisoned Cities:
    -Panama

The military of Legoland, though not overly large, is more than suited for our purposes. Our warriors explore the lands around us, and our fearsome Numidian Mercenaries guard most of our cities. Barbarian raiders are the greatest threat we currently face, but they are easily dealt with.
Only Panama stands undefended, at the moment, but has fair warning of any approaching danger, and shall have its own garrison in the near future.

    Infrastructure Overview

    Trade Connected Cities: 2
    -Legopolis
    -Jackson
    Known Luxuries:
    -5 Dyes
    Connected Luxuries: 0
    Known Strat. Resources:
    -none
    Connected Strategic Resources: 0

The trade network of our land is still small, but with the dedication of our hearty workers, Panama shall soon be connected, with Farmerville and the soon-to-be RedBrick following close behind. When next our borders grow, we shall harvest the dyes that our jungle lands produce for the benefit of our people. Unfortunately, they seem to be the only product our lands have to offer, at the moment.

    Diplomatic Overview

    Contacted Civs: 0
    Treaties: 0
    Trade Agreements: 0

Sadly, we are alone in the world, as far as we can tell. Perhaps strange and wild peoples lay over the seas, but only the future will tell...

Vondrack, I know this would probably fall under the duties of the incoming Pres, so I hope you don't mind that I did it myself. Just trying to save you some work!

Thanks, Zargon, I certainly don't mind...

Just one small correction: Panama is not undefended, Howard is currently garrisoning it.

Great work, Zargon, even though I knew all this already, of course

Updated State of the State Report - 975 bc turn

Well, thought it would be interesting to see what has changed since this original report on Turn 41 as we now await to play Turn 83

            Turn 41
            Capital: Legopolis
            Government: Despotism

Jackson and Panama have surged in population although Legopolis and Farmerville have both grown despite pumping out large amounts of settlers.

New cities include: RedBricks (Turn 46), Forkmouth (Turn 67), Karina (Turn 75), Zargonia (Turn 81) and soon to come DyeFields and Logville

Still haven't built much infrastructure - only a granary in the past 40 turns - though this is now about to change.

            Economic Overview

            Treasury: 69 gold - now 56 gold
            Income: 15/turn -
            -15/turn city revenue
            Expenses: 15/turn
            -13/turn science
            -2/turn corruption
            Science Levels: 100%
            Luxury Levels: 0%

The more things change, the more they stay the same - well not really , we are producing a lot more arrows then we did 40 turns ago.

            Science Overview

            Known Technologies: 8
            -Bronze Working
            -Masonry

            -Writing
            -The Wheel
            -Warrior Code
            -Ceremonial Burial
            Current Research: Map Making

            Now add the following since:
            Map Making
            Mysticism (from hut)
            Iron Working
            Philosophy (from hut)
Code of Laws (given by GoW)
Literature (given by GoW - though we were halfway to it)
            Mathematics (given by GoW)
            Horseback Riding (given by GoW)
            Polytheism (bought from GoW)
            Currency
            Construction (from hut)
            Monarchy (from hut)

Well , we have researched 3, got 4 from huts , 4 given to us and 1 bought/traded for - an unusual combination to say the least!

            Military Overview

            Standing Forces: 8 units
            -4 Warriors (1/1/1)
            -1 Archer (2/1/1)
            -3 Num. Merc. (2/3/1)
            Elite Units: 1

            -1 Horseman - Alexander
            -1 Galley - Galleyleo
-8 Num. Merc. (2/3/1) - 6 in garrisons plus one near dyes, 1 blocking an isthmus - MercG, Merciless, Mighty Merc, MarkyMerc, and several unnamed ones

            Civilian Units: 9 units
            -2 Settler
            -7 Workers
            Max Supportable Units: 32
            Current Army Support: 0/turn
            Units in Production:
            -Farmerville - Settler
            -Karina - Worker
            -Zargonia - Worker
            Garrisoned Cities:
            -Legopolis (1 merc)
            -Jackson (2 mercs)
            -Farmerville (archer)
            -Panama (sword)
            -RedBricks (merc)
            -Karina (merc)
            -Zargonia (merc)
            Non-garrisoned Cities:
            -Forkmouth (but Forkman is nearby)

Twice as many units for twice as many cities but clearly we need more soon especially with 2 more cities coming soon and 3 times the number of civilian workers including 7 workers (and 2 more workers to come perhaps)

            Infrastructure Overview

            Trade Connected Cities:
            -Legopolis
            -Jackson
            -Panama
            Known Luxuries:
            -5 Dyes
            Connected Luxuries: 7
            Known Strat. Resources:
            -Iron (4 of them)
            -Horses (3 of them)
            Connected Strategic Resources: 2
            - Iron near Panama
            - Horse near Panama

We are strong in Strat resources, but a little weak in Luxuries (RP has a stronghold on many of those perhaps, and GoW has a lot of wine)

            Diplomatic Overview

            Contacted Civs: 5 (Lux eliminated)
Treaties: 0 (still working on possibly one)
            Trade Agreements: PLENTY !

Situation has changed dramatically with our arrival of the GoW coastline on Turn 68/69 - 14 turns ago - we now have contacted nearly all of the other civs and are frequently making trades with them. We even were fortunate enough to get the map of the Bob continent without having to give up our own!
