If this thread won't receive more votes in the next 3 days, I will set up a few polls for the issues that seem to be in debate (3, 4, 5, 8) and update the Constitution with the results.

I might be off town next week, so when I come back the polls should be over and we could finally vote the Constitution.

              Thanks Jack. Updated.

              ?
              ------------

I have a question. Now that so many people actually have voted in this thread, do we really need to set up separate polls with the "hot" issues, where things are yet undecided? For example, nr.8: The amendment for the Constitution: the results are 51% - 4 votes, 66% - 5 votes. What should I do?

Wait for Sharpe to answer (he's an active player), and maybe PM Odin to come here (he's somehow present on 'Poly). This way, we'll have a more accurate picture.

I think Kraken is active as well - at least, in other parts of poly. I saw him post in the Creation forum several days ago.

Anyone seen quantum recently? Isn't he one of our ambassadors (or supposed to be )?

I am Canadian and talking about Constitutions is a distasteful subject up here with Quebec and all.

Still I will try to vote before the end of the weekend. My apologies for being among the last to vote on this.

Continuing my tradition of voting with the majorities: (just kidding, this is truly what I am voting for)

                        1) 1 month President's Term
                        2) 1 month Minister's Term
                        3) 51% Senate approval of war
                        4) 66% Senate early removal of Executive and ministers
                        5) 3 days or 50% Requirements for polls to be valid
                        6) 51% of Senate to be considered valid
                        7) 5 days or 66% of Senate voted for amendments, war etc.
                        8) 51%

Thank goodness that is over with...

What I find interesting is that many (actually most) Legos think that a majority of 66% is needed to ousts ministers from office, while for a declaration of war 51% of the votes are enough. Hmmm.

well I dont think we will be using declaration of war much, only in cases i would think when it requires it. But I am fine with 51% of the vote for a declaration of war.

Re: Constitution : state the [TBA]s

Now that the voting procedure has more or less ended (even though we accept new votes), let's see what do we have.

Some results are final, may I say, and there are some clear winners:

                                1. The President is elected every [TBA] by the Senate
                                2 month - 2 votes
                                one month – 7 votes
                                3 weeks – 1 vote

                                2. The ministers are elected by the Senate every [TBA].
                                one month – 9 votes
                                3 weeks – 1 vote

                                3. Only the Senate can declare war to another country, with a majority of [TBA] of the votes.
                                66% - 3 votes
                                51% - 7 votes

                                4. The Senate can remove any minister, the President, Vice President or Justices of Court. This removal requires [TBA] of the votes to pass.
                                51% - 2 votes
                                66% - 7 votes
                                60% - 1 vote

                                5. A poll is declared valid if opened for at least [TBA] period or if at least [TBA] percent of the Senate voted in it.
                                3 days or 50% - 6 votes
                                4 days or 50% - 2 votes
                                3 days or 66% – 1 vote
                                3 days or 75% - 1 vote

                                6. As soon as any option in a given poll is voted for by at least [TBA] percent of the Senate, the poll may immediately be declared valid and closed
                                51% - 8 votes
                                75% - 2 vote

                                7. Exceptions: Polls that decide Constitutional Ammendments, Declarations of War, Elections and Removal from Office are declared valid if opened for at least [TBA] period or if at least [TBA] percent of the Senate voted in it.
                                7 days or 66% - 1 vote
                                5 days or 66% - 8 votes
                                5 days or 75% - 1 vote

To my surprise, Nr. 8 is the only one where an absolute stalemate was reached:

                                8. The ammendment will be considered adopted if it receives [TBA] of the votes.
                                51% - 5 votes
                                66% - 5 votes

How about a 60% compromise? Is this acceptable for everybody? If yes, in a few days we can proceed to vote the Constitution. Luckily, we proved that we can work/play well even without one, but since we are so close to finalize it, let's proceed. It doesn't hurt, IMHO.
