I would have no problem remaining on the list of players (I would actually respectfully request to remain there, to have an easy, direct access to the savegames I need to create Chronicle updates). Thinking of how much work the MA post has involved so far (plus, how fine and long-term plans are already posted in our forum), I guess I would have no problem running for this post, possibly becoming a VP. If there is noone else wishing to run for the MA, I will fill in.

Hey guys! Sorry, I've been out of town for a few days, out of contact longer than I expected Anyway, holding elections this week would probably be a good idea, as we are getting behind schedule, and we need to get back on track.

What elections? Is there any position with more than one candidate?"The only way to avoid being miserable is not to have enough leisure to wonder whether you are happy or not. "

and Foreign Minister: Nimitz
I agree that we should close the nominations shortly.
Regarding my earlier idea to expand the number of people that would get the gamesave from Vox, I suggest that people in the following positions get the save (unless they don't want to get it):
1) President
2) Vice President
3) Master Builder
4) Military Architect
With all due respect to the Enlightened and Foreign Minister positions, they involve more long-term decisions or information gathering that doesn't necessarily need the current gamesave promptly.
However, it is very possible that the Master Builder and Military Architect would change their orders upon viewing a current gamesave - especially during a war situation.
Giving the MB and MA the gamesave could allow them the opportunity to reevaluate their orders based on up- to-date information if they load up the gamesave before the turn is played by the President or Vice President. Otherwise they would the gamesave available immediately to plan the moves for the next turn promptly (could be useful now that there is another drive to reduce the turnaround time for the turn re the new Timecounter push).

Yes, I would support that too. As I am currently VP and MA, I can say with assurity that on one or two occasions when I played the turn myself, I altered some of my orders upon viewing the actual game. Having those positions on the list would be a good idea

Well, as there seem to be no contested elections, do we go ahead and hold polls anyway, or should we simply set a date for the government transition?

I think we should simply set a date.
I haven't kept track of how many turns were played this term, though I guess it doesn't really matter. Perhaps we should set the date at the 25th? That's 3 more days for "Term" 3. Doesn't matter too much to me, since I'm not leaving/switching jobs.

How about the 26th? I'm going to be kind of busy this weekend (attending a wedding and whatnot ), and it'd be nice if I could start my reign of tyranny on a day I will be able to fully concentrate on it.

Since we never oficially closed this down, I have a proposal:
I think Vondrack should be FA. He's very good in it. Besides, I didn't see Nimitz in weeks, or even if he was around, I didn't see him doing too much in the foreign relationships arena.
The MoW could be Sharpe then."The only way to avoid being miserable is not to have enough leisure to wonder whether you are happy or not. "
