  • May Elections

I guess it is nearly time for the May elections.

I suggest that with the lulls during the Easter weekend and the subsequent Apolyton server crash for 3 days, we should extend the current term by say a week from April 30 to May 7 due to the lack of turns during those periods.

Since we usually give ourselves 7-10 days for the election nominations and voting - that would leave a deadline for Nominations of somewhere between April 30 to May 3 perhaps?

That would be fine with me; so would sticking with the 30th. Either way. But I guess it is getting a little late for nominations if we open polls on the 30th...

With the new crash problem, I suggest we delay elections until the game is running again. (Or if. ) The current ministers can play the first post-crash turns while we run nomimations, campaigns, and elections.

Actually if the game will work again, we should change the Constitution, IMHO. There is no need for these monthly elections. We could change the term to 2 months or do it like in the ISDG: change the leadership only on request.

First things first, does anyone want to run for an office they currently don't hold or is anyone wanting to leave office?

Well... I am very seriously considering not running for the President again, for various reasons (though some of them - those related to the amount of time needed to run the team - actually ceased to be a problem recently, due to the fact that game slowed considerably down... even before the crash problem emerged).

There might be circumstances that could push me over the edge and make me run again, but I do hope there will be someone else willing and wishing to take over.

I suggest that we suspend discussions on this until the future of the game can be sorted.

I'll be running for MB again.

Sorry to hear you're retiring vondrack. While there have been a few controversies, you've been a great President.

I'm willing to be VP if needed, but I don't think I could do Prez just yet.

I'd like to stay where I am.

While I am sorry to see Radek go, I can understand him. The man wants his life back My only remark is that if I was him, I'd give up the ISDG Presidency. But I'm not him

Actually, I plan to help Zargon with the Chronicle updates heavily - I suppose he will do the textual part (actions taken) and I will do the pictures. I don't plan to quit or withdraw from the team - hopefully, I will be able to do even more work for the team if able to stay away from some "circular" debates (which is not really an option, being the Prez).

It's mostly the feeling I can "disappear" for a day or two with no consequences that I lack (I can do that in ISDG easier than here - at least that's how I feel as the Lego Prez).

And as for PtWDG vs. ISDG... I will be honest. ISDG is much easier for me, as it takes just an eyeblink to get to an agreement with nye and MWIA (Consuls do not theoretically have to care about anything else, as the system of government there is different from ours). I admit that getting to the same level of agreement here is more difficult and time consuming for me. Or I feel it is. I would like to take a break.

We have basically never tried letting someone else run this team. Let's try it and see how it goes. If smoothly, great. If not, I am not going to leave all this great work we all have contributed to. There will be more terms in the future, after I get my neglected-a-bit RL stuff done...

Oh... and... thanks to everybody voting for me in the HoF. I was so pleasantly surprised to see my name there several times.

                              Hi guys!

Haven't been posting as much lately due to being somewhat overwhelmed by RL these days - work and other matters.

Being such I sympathize with Vondrack's decision not to run for Pres again this term. Our powerful position in the game reflects your good leadership thus far, Radek, though I have been amazed how you have been coping with both the ISDG, Legoland and RL affairs at once (plus my continual debating/arguing of course )

I also throughly support Zargon for the Presidential position - despite his chaining me up in a prison ever since his MA coup...

Of course, this means that the MA position currently has no candidates. Is anyone interested? Due to work commitments, I can't run for any position unless it was joint/shared like last term.

Do we also have any Europeans interested in the VP position if Zargon (or any other North American candidate) is elected President?

Another thing is I think that we should expand the amount of people that we get the save turn sent to us to 3 people at least. Radek, would you be willing to remain on the send list if you aren't President or VP this term?
