  • 2nd attempt at a Public Announcement

On the main forum, we post

The GoW does not recognize the Gathering Storm ownership of any cities gifted by RP. GS has no influence of control over these cities, and it is simply a cowardly tactic used by RP, in a desperate attempt to thwart the advancing armies of ND & GoW.

If GS wishes to enter the war on Bob, then we encourage them to do so openly in the public forum, state their allegiances, and declare war. This abuse of the game mechanics has surprised the GoW, and that GS would so opening disregard their honour code and resort to such a cheezy tactic.
This ensures that we are not officially breaking our NAP.
If we dont recognise the transfer, then taking the cities are not a hostile action.

This is the communication, I would sent to GS

To the members of Gathering Storm.

The GoW is in utter disbelief that the GS would not offer a limited ROP through Bilbao territory. We were willing accept the transfer of RP cities to GS as a minor nuisence, but to flaunt our agreed NAP so openly has outraged us.

We quote part of your response

We regret that we must deny permission for any forces to cross our territory, which has recently been enlarged to include Toledo. We are at war with neither RP nor GoW. We do not wish to advantage either side through access to that land.
It is GoW opinion that simply accepting RP cities that are clearly objectives in our war, and then denying us access through them, is close to actively engaging in hostility against us

    We quote our NAP

This contract is a declaration of a Non Aggression Pact between Gathering Storm and Glory of War. Neither team will engage in hostile activity against the other team for the duration of the contract.
It is now our policy, that if GS accepts any further cities from RP without our approval, the GoW will take this as a hostile action, and claim that GS is in direct violation of our NAP.

GS’s current actions, have forced us into releasing the following announcement on the main forum.

Our riders this turn, have taken the Roleplay city of Bilbao. Furthermore (assuming our ND allies do not get there first) we will move to take Toledo.

The GoW still understands that our NAP is still in effect, and will not engage in hostilities against any GS units. If GS wishes to break our NAP and declare war, then please do so now in the open forum, so that we are then released from our confidentiality clause of our NAP, and we can post details of GS breaking it, and their honour code to the remaining teams.

Secondly, we would like to make our position very clear to GS, if you break our NAP.
The GoW will spend every dollar, and every shield produced in our Golden age to build military units to attack and destroy every GS unit, landing on Bob. We will ensure, that the GS invasion will be bloody for both sides and every inch of territory claimed by GS, will cost dearly in military strength. We will not stop. We will actively engage your units across the continent and support our ND allies in their final destruction of RP.

If, the RNG gods do not act in our favour, and GS does gain dominance on Bob, the GoW will still send unit after unit to attack GS positions, right down to our last city.

Our final act, will be to request a city from Lego, whom we will pledge our allegiance. We will support Lego in every way possible, to deny GS a win in this game. This will include gifting technology & gold, using Chinese workers for land improvements, defence of their continent, and finally a vote on the UN.

We encourage GS to think hard about their pending decision. The GoW understands that we had an informal plan in the works as to how GS & GoW can work together in the future. The GoW is still committed to this plan.

We implore GS to reconsider our original offer. Send your war machine to Bob. Help us make the RP war short, so that there is minimal loss of military units by all of us. Then, as allies, discuss how we shall act in the future.

    Yours sincerely,

    GoW

      Gentlemen,

I aknowledge that I am perhaps the worst writer among us. But I want to make sure GS completely understands our position. If they truely believe that the final two teams will be Lego & GS, then they must take pause to consider their actions. Our allegence to Lego may surprise them (whether we do it or not can be debated later). And we have given them a way out by still stating our support of their team.

I strongly suggest that the above announcement and GS correspondence gets approved and posted.

        1) No taking of Bilbao, leave it for ND.

Here's the message I plan to send to Zeit and notyoueither, I don't think we should make this a public announcement yet.

        GS:

It is with great concern that I write to you today. The Glory of War considers the Gathering Storm a kindred spirit in team beliefs but your actions of late have undermined that belief.

We regret that we must deny permission for any forces to cross our territory, which has recently been enlarged to include Toledo. We are at war with neither RP nor GoW. We do not wish to advantage either side through access to that land.

Our intentions re RP are not fully concrete as of yet. We are inclined to look favourably on a civ who has welcomed us to Bob. As of this point, our goals in the conflict would be to finish what other nations start.

        Respectfully

        nye

Your team has purposely accepted Roleplay cities for THE SOLE PURPOSE of preventing our capture of them. This violates the spirit and intent and virtually violates the specific wording of the following document:

This contract is a declaration of a Non Aggression Pact between Gathering Storm and Glory of War. Neither team will engage in hostile activity against the other team for the duration of the contract.

The contract becomes effective on turn 126, 50 BC and will remain in effect for a duration of 30 turns, cancelling after turn 156, 400 AD.

The contract is considered Top Secret and will be treated as such by both teams and by their members. No memeber of either team is allowed to discuss the existence, or details, of the contract with anyone who is not a member of either Gathering Storm or Glory of War.

        Signed:
        Glory of War Team

        Ratified:
        Gathering Storm
By denying us the right to continue on our campaign you ARE WAGING WAR AGAINST US. Both our teams know this is being done to prevent the Glory of War from capturing the cities of the enemy. We accepted Bibao as your team was merely taking an opportunistic moment but any more than that is going beyond opportunistic and becoming willful agressiveness against a NAP partner.

If you accept Toledo or any other city beyond Bilbao it may be viewed as an act of war and violation of the before ratified NAP. We do not wish war with GS, we both need to be strong for the upcoming wars but we will defend our sovereign rights to exist and fight our enemies. Sovereign rights you are attempting to deny us.

If we had accepted Eliopolis as a gift from Vox before you took it, how would you have felt?

        GhengisFarb, Ambassador of GoW.

Did you say "We do wish war with GS" !!!!!!!

It's pretty damn good GF but ...

          GS galleys can reach Bilbao
If they get units in it before ND gets there, ND & GoW will lose units trying to take the damn city that is going to autoraze.

Secondly, I truely believe GS wants to join in on the war. We are their easiest target, and they want us to void the NAP so they can attack.

The threat to swear allegience to Lego for a UN win may make them reconsider.

They are NOT afraid of us...they think they can take us.
Truthfully...it does not matter if who can win.
It's just that if they do attack, GoW will bear the brunt, and we will have to pull our units from the RP war.

I think we make sure they understand...an attack on us, we mean they will lose the game. GoW probably wont win...but we can make damn sure GS will lose.

That is what we must make them afraid of.

I think my subconcious threw that in there.

We eventually plan to fight GS, but right now we need to make them think we do not so that they don't pump everything they have into an invasion of Bob.

Send it on to GS it seems to get to the point. I am still uncertain if GS really wants to go to war or not. They must have known we would have to take action, but then again maybe they thought we would let them get cities here free of charge due to our fear. But lets be honest here, Gs is powerful but they are not all powerful. Even they probably do not want to take on 2 nations in their GA at the same time. Us and Nd can really crank out units now at a rate of approx 1 per turn. Thats 40 units over a GA. Gs would have to transport units and then deposit them. If they could win before our production kicks in it could be bad, but that is unlikely. The conclusion I have come do after crunching the numbers is that GS is bluffing and hoping the"our military is weak compared to them" will keep us from doing what is necessary. GS has to create units in the south then transport them. They can not magically move them so their resupply up north is ify at best and if the initial attack fails they face the possibility of counter attack up north.

When are we doing the public announcement? When we go over their borders or attack their cities? Because if it is the borders we'd better hurry up because we just did it.

I think the public announcement may change based on their reactions to the pm I want to send them that I posted above.

Look at it another way: the more troops they send south to Bilbao, the less troops they have to invade us in the north...

If we sent our stack "south" then we have just violated their borders.
That makes us aggressors...wheich means we violated the treaty.

This is why I want to put up the public announcement before they get the save. If we dont recognise the transfer, then we have done nothing illegal.

If we mention it publicly we will have violated the NAP. The NAP says we can't mention its existence to other teams. In my opinion, the sooner we send a response to GS the better, the problem is we can't get approval to send the response to GS.

The way I have written the announcement does not mention the NAP...nor does it say that we are going to violate borders or take over cities.

It is simply stating we dont recognise the transfer... therefore we can do anything we want, when we want.

I would prefer not to state that publicly. Yet. I think we can gain more by approaching GS first.
