GoW start location: it looks to me like totally underused. They're lucky we didn't had something like that to start from, or we would have been even farther in front... they didn't even chop the game forest yet, nor mined the cow.

Sure, it could be that these maps are 'old' in that the improvements visible are there from the last time one of Luxian's scouts passed nearby, but still... it shouldn't have taken longer then 15 turns to chop both game tiles, GoW is industrious after all.

Mentioning to Vox we've got screenies now: no need to, but no need to deny it either. But we're not sharing unless they have something better to trade to us

My thoughts exactly, DeepO. Oh, what we could have done with that land!

Keep in mind that GoW were forced to REX, so they probably neglected workers and focused on warriors and settlers.

          Am I missing something?

Are GoW and ND playing as badly as I think they are?

Sh-t, even if the Lux war was paramount... they are both friggin' ugly. Cracker would have a heart attack.

As long as you've remembered (and I'm sure you have)that the info on the screenshot is only taken from the last time a Lux unit had the tiles in it's line of sight (and will therefore be many turns out of date by now) then, no, I don't think you're missing anything.
If I'm posting here then Counterglow must be down.

What about securing a bridgehead at Bob? Hmmm, just thinking...

We were pretty much unprepared for a war when it happened. They had a scout perched on the road intersection between Invictus and Campus Felix. A stack of 4 swordsman moved onto the tile between Dar El-Killam and Regio Equorum, which prompted us to abandon that city and move our units back towards our capital while we attempted to slow down the advancing stack of swordsmen. Our original plan was to build a settler in Invictus and send it south to settle amongst the Roleplay team, but that changed after GoW and then Vox's offer to give us a city. The only units we saw of theirs were swordsmen and spearmen.

The only updates we would see to the map after Lux first scouted out the area would be the chopping of Forests (I believe) and the appearance of new cities (assuming Lux gave us the map as of their very last turn, or close to it). So it may not be as bad as we believe terraforming-wise, but they're still quite poor on city placement (maybe planning to backfill?), as well as the non-chopped Game (maybe they think they've got enough Food out of the Cows?).

A bridge head is a possibility, given what we see here- but this is an old piece of intelligence, at least when considering this kind of operation. Besides, if anyone would have a look at our map right now, he would have thought the same thing.

One thing i have to say- this sure made me drool! Let's get a galley up and sailing and chart this damn world!

I like the coastal hill next to the gems mountain due east of Anagramaskus.

If ND or RP won't settle it first, then it looks like a great landing site.
Establishing a beachhead there would sure piss off the Bobians, though.

                          Ya think?

We have our own land to settle, and an outpost is only a good idea if we are able to defend it.

Walls, barracks, temple, harbor, 3 spearmen, 2 catapults, 3 swordsmen, 2 WC's. Minimum.

That's a steep price to pay for shedding our "boring" label.

Stuck this. I don't want to lose track.

btw, ixnay. Where are you? Haven't seen you in the other threads. We didn't just want you for the maps.
