  • Maps from Lux

As promised, here are maps of the continent, taken from the last savegame in the Lux forum.

    The minimap:

An overview of the known continent:

The former site of the Lux civ:

    Glory of War:

    ND:

I'll take requests for more screens, and try to answer any questions about Lux. I wasn't active in diplomacy, so the only info I have to go off of are the reports in our forum. I hope we can make good use of these.

    Beautiful! Thanks Ixnay!

Some preliminary analysis: it looks like GoW and ND have some sweet terrain, and now that Lux is gone, they've got a lot to build on. I've heard that ND and GoW have agreed to divide Lux's territory (though not evenly, I suppose; ND must have insisted that they have more of Lux's lands than GoW will, since ND participated in this war more actively), so it could be a while before the next war on Bob takes place.
IMHO we can also exclude the option of ND trying to invade our shores from the sea in the near future (RP could still try that though).

Ixnay, could you tell us about ND's military? At the time of the war, what kinds of units did they have, and how many did you see?

      Excellent Ixnay! That's great!

One request: could you use your famous photoshop skills to brighten the images up a bit? The fog-of-war makes it hard to see exactly what is going on (for me, anyway).

        Here's a combined minimap (JPEG, 0% compression).
Whoever plays the next turn, could you please move away the view from our continent and then take a shot of the minimap so that we could have a minimap that's free of those ugly white lines?
Also, please take a clean shot of our minimap every time Vox or ourselves establish a new city so that we could keep the combined minimap up-to-date.

If noone finds any problems with this minimap (I'm sure there aren't, but I may have missed something) soon, I'm going to send it to the common mailbox.

            Thanks Shiber.

It's probably very easy to do, but it's still beyond my simple skills.

Yeah, there's a lot to be jealous of.
This just goes to show us all how much more effort we need to put into this game in order to win. Still, I am absolutely confident in our team, especially considering all the advantages that we've got that more than cover up for the nice territory that the Bobians got.

                  Time to count resources.
(of course, I can't count any resources that they've built on, only the ones that are visible on the map)

                  Wine: 2
                  Spices: 4
                  Gems: 2
                  Horses: 3
                  Iron: 2
                  Gold: 2
                  Wheat: 1
                  Cattle: 4
                  Game: 3
                  Fish: 1

That's for ND and GoW to share, plus RP might be able to grab a piece of it themselves if they REX fast enough. Btw, ND has both iron tiles while GoW has both horses tiles.
Now for our resources (forgive me if I forgot to count anything that we've built on):

                  Furs: 7
                  Incense: 5
                  Iron: 3
                  Horses: 1
                  Wheat: 4
                  Game: 1
                  Whale: 3

Once we've gotten rid of Vox, we'll have all of that to ourselves! See, we're no so unlucky after all.
Of course, bonus tiles aren't everything. Terrain matters a lot too, though I'm not going to start counting and categorizing all the tiles in Ixnay's maps ( ).

Addition: counting the number of bonus tiles, it seems that the visible part of our continent and the now visible part of Bob (thanks to Ixnay!) are blessed with the same amount of bonus tiles: 24 (at least, according to my count).
That's interesting... of course, it is by no means a reliable way of gauging the value of our lands vs. the value of the lands on Bob, just a funny coincidence.

There is still time to get a peacefull foothold on BOB too, something for Vox maybe?

Good point. Maybe we should ask Vox if there's any way they could get a peaceful foothold on Bob anytime soon.
Btw, I suggest that we don't mention having any of these maps to Vox. We've had several opportunities to witness Vox's "talkative nature", and I'd hate if the Bobians somehow find out that we have a map of the northern part of their continent.

Here's a thought: ND and GoW have a border agreement now, right? Perhaps GoW would be interested if Vox offered to try to settle in some of ND's claimed but yet unsettled territory... interested enough to offer some assurance in case ND decides to drive Vox off of Bob by force.
We, in turn, could offer Vox a long-term non-aggression pact, so that they could concentrate on building up and fortifying their beachhead on Bob.

Is anyone else comparing start locations? I'm not saying our start is all that bad, but I would have killed to get what Glory of War was dealt. Wow.
