okay, so I hypothetically build warriors then

I know about writing, but if their island would be quite big, they don't really need aquaducts early, as they need settlers, and have plenty of rivers. 80 turns to get to currency is not that bad, if you are left alone. The biggest problem will be that they need to stay in despotism until someone finds them...

But yes, if they are already close to getting contact, there is no point in fantasizing on how to play in their situation.

I think they said the research IW- why would they need that?

Another issue- the WC against Horsemen debate- have you taken a look on the jungle clearing Vox is doing- they are taking out a most cruicial brick in their jungle wall- a hole that is big enough to pour WC's into Diss., and if they don't pillage their road, make it all the way towards the isthmus from there. I know its early, but think of a combined 3- phases assaults- galleys land forces near the isthmus to take the relatively undefended Elipolis, or at least taking a hold of the nearby hill tile- an obvious strategically important site. another force, made of fast WC's makes his way towards the eastern border town- using the element of suprise and the quantative advantage, as well as the absence of rough terrain. a Third force, made mostly of Spearmen and swords, crosses the mountains towards Dissidentville, while available unitss from the WC force cut through the opening westwards- while the northern marine force (they were seaborne, after all...) blocks incoming reinforcment.

      I already start drooling...

Keep on choppin' that jungle fellas, keep on choppin'

Re: wonders... I'm thinking that the Pyramids + Colossus if we can grab it is my preference.

Hopefully we can build up our military during the time we're building the Pyramids, and then we can be in position to launch our attack on Vox when in our GA. If we're doing well, we can use the GA to build improvements. If not, more troops.

Vox now has a worker three tiles north of Dissidentville. My best guess is that they moved their captive into the city last turn and are sending him in the general direction of home.

Vox seems to have accepted Literature and offered back Horseback Riding but forgot to accept their end of the HBR offer before sending it. I accepted our end, so if they accept theirs when the turn gets back, the deal should complete.

By the way, I'm changing Tempest's build order to a worker for the moment. If I'm calculating correctly, things will work out exactly right for that not to cost us growth in spite of being size 1 instead of size 2 briefly. (If anyone thinks that's the wrong move, please let us know.)

                    No.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again:

                    Liars. Backstabbers. Incompetents. Unstable.

... and dangerous. Immortals, need I remind anyone?

                    ... and extortable.

... and vassalable (Fried-Psitalon addressed this well in the PTW forum).

And do we have no interest in GLs?

In the last communique, BetaHound referred to the "alliance"... the f-cking temerity of that... no consultation whatsoever, in either the initial Vox / Lux deal nor in Vox' choice to end it...

I maintain a position, both here and in the ISDG, that I want whatever team I play with to play honorably.

An opponent, or an ally, crosses that line...

Henceforth, the Voxidiots are known as Voxmeat.

I still say it depends on what happens on Bob. Vox isn't nearly as trustworthy as I would expect from a permanent ally, especially a permanent ally that shares my continent, but if we need Vox to help prune back a civ that's threatening to take over most of Bob, we need them. (Granted, they won't necessarily be a whole lot of help, but an ally that just provides cannon fodder to divert enemy attention is better than no ally at all.)

Turn sent. Aeson, as Murphy's Law says should be expected, you asked just seconds after I saved the game. I'll reopen it and get you your data.

                            Cities:

EotS - 10 food (all in the granary), 5 shields.
                            Hurricane - 4 food, 90 shields.
                            Bolderberg - 8 food, 11 shields.
                            Cyclone - 15 food, 25 shields.
                            Tornado - 14 food, 6 shields.

Workers (in case you need their status):

By Tempest - Started irrigating this turn.
Horse tile by Bolderberg - This is his last turn roading.
Other worker by Bolderberg - started irrigating this turn.
By Cyclone - started roading this turn.
By Tornado - started roading this turn.
Between EotS, Hurricane, and Tornado - This is his second turn mining.
