one last thing. We reserve the right to station troops anywhere in Lux territory.

AND, if Lux steps one foot outside their territory without our explicit consent, we will extinguish them.

Tech trade should be handled too.
Vox sells our tech to Lux, Lux trades it back to Lego, we get zit.

          Good catch alva.

No tech is traded to Lux without our expilicit consent which may be withheld at our whim.

As alva noted elsewhere... Immortal Alert.

If we even SEE an Immortal outside of Vox territory, Lux is toast.

If I was them I would rather have my Civ wiped out than agree to those terms

FP, they have stated they only want a safe harbour till they build a new settler and a boat. They already know of another land mass.

What I outlined is simply taking them at their word and making it clear what will happen if they are being less than truthful.

The more I think about it, the less I like it.
This agreement will force us to build more units (some might say this actually a good thing ),
but not if it means we have to build more then we need to as it will slow down our rex and infrastructure building.

PS: technically VOX is violating our border agreement since Lux's borders will expand at our expense.
We should use this as a leverage to get something from this.
As it stands, Vox will loose more then GS from declaring that treaty void IMHO.

Yes, we need more units. But that is true either way...

We must balance defense with REXing. I don;t think that will impact infrastructure too much; military roads become slightly higher priorities, but that's all.

Making demands of Vox right now may not be wise.

They are faced with the opportunity of a vanquished Lux and room to expand across the straight.

Do we want them to consider that they should not do that and instead continue coming South?

That brings up a further btw...

Since the situation of Lux gives Vox opportunities for more space, perhaps the border agreement needs to be brought up for review around the time we are hitting 12 cities and larger military.

Fair enough, if they want to be an inconsequential third-world nation for the short period of time it'll take someone to get around to squashing them like a bug, then that's up to them.

Each to their own, I suppose.

How would we enforce the "No Luxian military whatsoever" demand? Right now we don't have any offensive military better than warriors! If it came down to having to enforce our demand, we'd have to upgrade enough warriors to swordsmen to deal with whatever military Lux can build up while we're doing the upgrades and getting our troops in place. Not a cheap proposition. Our current military plans are okay for defense, at least as long as all we have to worry about is Vox, but we're definitely not geared toward offensive operations.

If Vox really wants to do this, we can't stop them. But it's definitely not something I regard as a good thing.

In regard to building a city next to the iron to claim it for ourselves, consider the capital distance ratio involved. We'd need a fair-sized militry force in the city to make sure it couldn't flip. That wouldn't be nearly as big an issue with Vox. (On the other hand, Vox can't start any cultural buildings there until they get the city back from Lux, so if things go the way they're officially supposed to, it could work out.)

I would suggest that this sudden change in conditions might be an arguement for less balls out building and more balanced development.

Given this demonstration of how quickly the unexpected can arise with humans, I renew my request that EotS build a Barracks ASAP.

                                You are correct.

The border agreement will need to be reviewed at that time.
