  • I was kidding SR.

I agree with Shiber... we are being insulting by not responding. Oh, and I think SR (not Frater Ralphus) should be the final editor on what we communicate, just to make absolutely sure we don;t run into any language or cultural toe-stubs.

    • Why don't we just send my note to start with?

We owe them nothing, except the courtesy of a reply.

      • Here's an idea; I'm not quite sure whether it's a good one, though.

The Gathering Storm flags flying over certain of Spain's northern cities have been a signal of Stormian disapproval over the idea of you and GoW dividing a land mass well over twice the size of ours between just the two of you. Since you have chosen to ignore that signal, we must now consider what our next steps should be.
Ambiguous, and hopefully masks (at least a little) the fact that the vast majority of the consideration we have to do is in regard to how best to deploy our troops.

          • I like it, but... I worry that it falls into that arrogant character of which we are so often accused.

              • If they mistake it for arrogance, I'm not so sure that's a bad thing. If they make the mistake of thinking we're trying to throw our weight around without fighting, they're in for an unpleasant surprise.

                • ND's last message is garbage. We don't owe them a response IMO. They are trying to guilt us into telling them what GS is going to do, after attacking us... nice. Are they a team of manipulative, passive aggressive mothers?

Don't call. ND are our enemies. The cards have all been played. Let them sweat what GS is holding. They'll get our answer soon enough. We certainly are under no obligation to give respite to the enemy, even from a psychological standpoint.

                    • I would add this to Nathan's note, if we choose to send it:

In behalf of my team, I apologize for taking so long to respond. We are a team that works out of concensus, and that often means that we take longer to respond to diplomatic PMs than other teams. I hope we haven't insulted any of you - I assure you that it is not our intention.
                      This accomplishes two things:
                      1. Makes us, once again, look like the diplomatic underdogs. RP puppets, anyone?
                      2. Gives us an easy excuse for any future stallings.

Close your eyes, and let music set you free..."

                      • I'm starting to like the psychology of giving ND "the silent treatment."

If we do send a note with an apology, I'd rather keep the apology part shorter and simpler than what Shiber suggested. But I don't think we owe them an apology for needing some time to decide exactly how we want to respond to messages regarding their having attacked us.

                        • I am still in favour of one that says nothing, while acknowledging the note.

Shiber, why should we say more?
