  • You're just more thorough. Things go faster when you don't have to note where anything is.

    • We can afford to lose them now as they are only going to cost us maintainance. So it is better to let them do some damage and save the tanks, as many as we can.

The marines will get a bonus attacking from sea and should do some damage. If we lose 25 of them and save 10 tanks, it is a bargin.

          On the contrary, I think.
that army can only get 3 promotions, and each marine going in first is near certain to cause one. Because of the army always putting its best unit first, marines get a better shot at it until it reaches 3-4 hp... then tanks are better, to possibly take out the last unit on the army, without a possible promotion. The army will have had 2 promotions, and will have eaten ~ 8 marines, but that's better than taking the marines first.

The same principle as in the GoW Stanwix attack exists: a marine is better used as a sort of free bombardment. If it fails, a tank is better used. However, there is one major difference: we're not short on units here. And marines will do us less good in the following turns than tanks.

          • On stealing the plans it is not guranteed to work. But we could try to get others to steal then if we fail. As long as we pay for it.

I guess I never tried to steal them with only one city left.

Most certainly... it's nice of Lego to have sold everything for us, now we can be sure our arties don't destroy anything that could be turned into gold

              • If we just go with the 46 Marines and then 50 4/4 Tanks we should have close to 100% to take the city. On average there will be 11 extra Tanks left.

Given that ww is no issue, let them rot with their leftover units. We can block our coast with workers if we want... if they want to harrass GoW, let them. Or we create some nice landing spots in the open for them to land on, so we can have more chances of leader generation

                  • re: Sale of Computers to GoW

DeepO asked about this earlier. Here's what I dug up...

to MZ, 7th Nov. Agreed price of computers

20 turns of rubber plus 25% research cost = 1560 gold.

                    from MZ, 10th Nov

Forgot to mention the tech stuff, we are interested in computers but we're a bit short on cash (or rather, we need it for any surprises), would it be possible to pay it in installments?

As per other research options, we are doing Fission right now, we can trade it for whatever it is you decide on next.

and from MZ, 24th Nov 11

                    2) We agree to computers and will send you a 500g down payment next turn, however we still don't want the tech until possibly the next-next turn (1275 AD) in any case, don't send the text next turn, i'll PM you when we want it.

So not using marines first, tanks as second attackers, and marines on any units left after a second attack? It would leave us most units, I think. Not sure if that is such a good idea, as the units left will be more marines instead of tanks, and if we don't want to invade anyone, we don't need marines. We do need tanks if we want to reach the Jackson troops.

That was my thinking all the way, save the cash. We are not in any immediate danger at home from Lego. We have rubber and can make some MI's.

                          • I forgot, Lego doesn't have the naval movement bonus anymore. At least some of their Transports are within 4 tiles of Abilene.

                            • Thanks CH. So another 1070 left on computers, and we don't want to send it now.

                              • I think we should take an Explorer down to where Tip used to be. Should be able to spot the ships from there.
