EDIT: Sorry for the delay in reply. I was refreshing to check for new posts and didn't notice it had gotten to the next page.
Hmmm. We have a chance that they don't spot our fleet next turn if we sink the Sub. The fight is 41%. We risk losing a 1/4 Sub that isn't going to do us much good for quite some time.
I think it's worth the risk. Tough call though as they likely will spot our fleet anyways with something. But if they don't it may save our D-day chain by not drawing the BB's that way.
Moving 2 Southern most DD to their designated spot (one circled a bit, to spot a sub, but none encountered).
We currently have the following left to do:
- move our N fleet (decide on which spot exactly, I now favour 1 of e, as it will certainly put us out of reach of the BB this turn)
- move our 2/4 sub (I favour it moving 8)
- move our two ex picket ships (Blizzard one going e.g. 66633 leaves it within reach of the 1/4 DD, and still helpful for the N fleet next turn. 66699 will place it to the N of the BB fleet, but without 'leaving a trail' from the 1/4 DD)
The Northern most ship should move 22222 to get within range of the picket line in 2 turns (or even 3, didn't count)
- are we going to put all possible convoy ships on our N fleet, or keep 1 for the chaining point? The 4/4 DD at 7 of the hub can't make it to e, or 1 of e.
All the rest is done, these are the last things before ending the turn.
This sub is the one we lost sight of on turn 241 (U-Q1, handy those names ), so it was normal that it returned. That still leaves the one aiming for Hurricane around. But if we were spotted last turn, I don't see Lego not going S with their stack.
Maybe we should go for it, even if we don't succeed.
I think with the BB stack not being able to hit us next turn (read: 7 DD HP's saved), we can drop off the 7 of hub DD from the N fleet to protect the chain.
Spotting the BB stack would be nice, but I don't think we should risk the Bizzard 4/4 DD to do so. Send it further S to help cover the chain next turn?
I'm going for a quick shave, and a shower... I should have left for a meeting with friends half an hour ago. Those final things will get played in 15 minutes or so, please give comments beforehand
I didn't expect it to be so soon, we can send the save onwards in 6h or so

Agreed. It wouldn't make any sense if they had spotted us to not come S with the BB's.

I think given the odds (41%) and the payoff (possibly keeping Lego in the dark as to where our fleet is) it's worth it.
if we send the Blizzard DD to the BBs, it will only be as a diversion, not to spot the BBs. If we send it North enough, all BBs attacking it, can't reach the T-1 spot anymore in time... it's more effective as an extra defender on our fleet.
However, Lego might have other ships around, I strongly suspect that DD they previously had to scout is in that neighbourhood. In which case it might not help as a diversion at all, and just be easy prey
