OK. Since you two both agree that it would not be good to be received first, I will send it after the official communication.

I'm in favour of the battle report only.
We're not going to taunt Lego like GoW and ND did to us over their victories, rubbing it gleefully in our faces. Likewise, we might consider refraining from a 'positive' therapeutic approach, and I'm sure Vondrack is old enough and tough enough to take the facts on the chin. He knows what kind of a game he's in, and attempts to wrap the facts in cotton wool might not make him and his team feel any better about it. It might just be annoying.
We'll have plenty of warm friendly things to say in any ensuing discussion, but I think it should be in response, rather than up-front.

I can't improve it with out making it increase in size by a factor of 6, so I think that it is best to go with your short and sweet version, DeepO, if we do go with a heads up.
Personally, though, I would rather not send it if it were so short. What if we were to post your version at the head of the battle report instead? You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

Dear Legoland,
this is a time of both joy and grief for us. We thought we should give you a heads up, before we make anything public.... Legopolis has fallen. More details will be unveiled later, but we just wanted to let you guys know that we feel for your loss, even if we were responsible. We know how much time you invested in building, what we un-builded in one turn time.
If I am not mistaken, and there is every chance that I am, but isn't this the note that we would be sending to Lego?
My propsed alteration, instead of the private heads up PM:

CH, you're voicing exactly my reasons to do it private, and keep it short... after thinking this over for nearly a day, I didn't found my first attempt any good either, as it would be too much, and might have a counter productive effect. Ths hort, private thing looks to me to be okay, and even needed. But that's just me... this has never happened before, so everyone's opinion is very needed here.

If the note Krill has posted is the suggested message to Lego, then I'm all for it. But then, none of the proposals I've read so far have anything objectionable in them. Since I'm reading everything at the moment, it's fair to assume that if I dont't say anything then I'mhappy with any given message.

DeepO, I understand, but the advatage of sending it privately is that any reactions that they have will not start a public flaming, and hopefully vond can damp anything out.You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.
