There is one thing we have given away with that screenshot, and it's too bad I only now realised it. We give the exact positions where Lego is supposed to attack next turn, they can switch Abilene, and even Tipperary to naval builds. That's one more DD we haven't counted on; good thing we took a reserve.
Next time I've got to be more careful in this. Lesson learned.

A PM from UnOrThOdOx, and my response:
Hello.
I am wondering if there are any on GS who would be interested in assiting me in a project similar to last years: http://www.apolyton.net/forums/showt...hreadid=104617
May be a different poem this year, unsure yet, but will be about the Lego altercation. In any case, once finished I will at least need to know who to ask whether GS would allow me to post it.
(I always ask at least one member of the effected teams before posting such things)
UnO,
I'll post it in the forum - I'm not the most active GS'er by a long shot. Considering how good the last one was, I'm sure we as a team will be ok with it, but I won't speak for the team.

UnO's pretty cool about stuff like this... if I remember, I was the contact last time, and he was scrupulous about clearing whatever he wrote with us.The greatest delight for man is to inflict defeat on his enemies, to drive them before him, to see those dear to them with their faces bathed in tears, to bestride their horses, to crush in his arms their daughters and wives.

I think this is the place to post this: With the amount of damage it seems we are about to do to Lego, it looks like they aren't going to be in this game for much longer. The problem that I am having, is how to break the news to Lego (Vondrack, in particular, due to the dialogue in the conversation thread). We have, in a matter of days, broken an empire that has taken more than two years to build. How heart broken are they going to be to find out that the one mistake that they made, with the BBs, has cost them, the majority of the past two years of their lives?
So how should we break the news to them? Should we post it after GoW have done their bit, or what? Formal, or with heart felt sorrow? You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

I think breaking it to them personally before we go public would be the right thing to do too.Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

I think it should be formal.

Lego did a smart thing in every case I can think of. There may have been better things to do in hindsight, but not necessarily more intelligent. Too much of "better" ends up resting on unknowns.
I wouldn't count that BB a mistake as if we hadn't been able to break through we were stuck and healing up their ships would help more than otherwise. Reasonably, I wouldn't expect many people to plan for the Transports attacking. Lego had 15 Transports remember.. and not once did we account for them in our naval simulations. If they had had them available to attack our N fleet, and thought of it, we could have lost a lot of units. The Artillery chained is something that could be easily overlooked too.
As for too many units in Abilene, remember we could've chained 8 Artillery and bombarded Abilene, or chained 8 more Tanks to attack with, and they might not know the full capabilities of our chain because there may be holes in their intelligence. If we had more Transports to chain over somehow (we did have a lot of empties around) and we brought 24 Tanks, it would have been a very close thing. If we had bombarded them down to city size instead of metropolis, it could have been a very close thing even without the extra Tanks.

There might be a way to bring it to the forum... I'm not sure if it wouldn't be considered some serious gloating. In a moment, with very little trouble, we're going to spot what was left of GoW's stack. We could simply post that in the battle report discussion:
GoW's troops at Fort Stanwix 6:
- so many tanks
- so many infs
- so many arts.
At first they might think we just spied on GoW.
Second post:
so many 1/4 tanks, so many 2/4 tanks, etc.
Probably a bit too much. But once they realize we can see GoW's stack, the implications of this starts to register.
Nah... probably too much. But a neat idea anyway

That be the fun thing about a private forum, we can gloat all we want in here.Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?
