  • So as not to clog Soren's thread...

We should pm some members of GS that haven't poked their heads in here in a while....

    alexman
    alva
    deepo
    dominae
    fried-psitalon
    ixnay
    nbarclay
    velociryx

we should also talk to aeson about rejoining.

I was going to go ahead and pm these people, but perhaps someone would have reservations?

OK, no clogging.... this thread will be for other stuff, like getting people in here.

Ask Aeson. He doesn't have to play.

I think T was more concerned with the others thinking something was up?

I think Aeson could take 5 minutes and come up with a nice smokescreen story to throw out there. Nothing much really, and no one would know about this.

          eh?

Yep, you got it... I've shot PMs to most of the team / Strat people, and will now deal with Aeson and Catt.

Okay, so you lured me back in... sorry for being so far away lately, too much is happening, and Internet just isn't a thing to spend a lot of time on right now. Sorry...

I'll try to keep up to date, but don't expect me to become so active as before again, my agenda just can't handle it

This wasn't a cheap ploy to get people back involved in the game, DeepO. We just thought you would be interested in this development.

No problem, DeepO. I just thought you'd like to be aware of Soren's thread (esp. as a Candle'Bre guy).

But I must say, I wouldn't mind if people visiting this forum helped re-build participation in GS a bit!!

sleepy, it didn't feel like a cheap ploy, I'm sorry if I sounded that way... that was not my intention. I should have said thanks for the invitation!

The reason why I'm a bit sad is that I somehow miss the excitement of this forum, I miss the excitement of the game. But... my time-wasters are changing, I simply don't play any games anymore (it's been over 3 months, can you imagine that?), and visiting fora is also getting something of the past. Maybe this is just a wave, and my interests will shift back in a couple of months, but for the time being I don't see any change.

I may give some suggestions on Civ4, and I do appreciate the ability to comment a lot, but I doubt I'll be such a hard core player as I've been with previous installments. I'll probably buy the game anyway, just for memories, and hope I'll get around to actually play it as well.

                      Would this phase involve... women?

                        No worries, DeepO.

If you knew what exactly was going on around here lately, I'm not so sure you would be excited (asleepathewheel says ominously)

                        Good luck.

well, yes, but not how you see it... the girl I met in Thailand certainly opened up new possibilities, shook me awake so to say. I'm still sorry it ended, but the main thing that came out of it is that I simply don't spend any free time behind a computer anymore. It feels like I've been hiding for too long, while I never was someone who didn't have a life outside the virtual one.

It's strange, and probably it is a phase, but seeing as it has been increasing over several years (GS being the last extreme case of Internet addicition, I think), I don't think it will ever get back to the old. Transitions, transitions... such strange things. Oh, and yes, in most of them, women play their role

That's why I said women, not a woman.

                            Good for you, man!!!

But, uh, just so you know, you will still have to deal with wars, irrigation (crying), and luxury resources, usually in that order.

                            j/k

That's all I've been dealing with, lately... sigh. And that was no joke. Some girls really know how to suck the energy out of someone
