He posted somewhere that we had no diplomatic contact with anyone from RP after the missed negotiation, but that's not true: I had a couple of long e-mails with GK. This makes me think that after all, GK did not post these messages to RP..
Note that I'm not saying ignore Roleplay, but ignore Togas. I'm very positive with responding to other RP members and to continue joking and light trash talking with them, but we should completely ignore Togas. No matter what he writes, no response. Like the US does with Palestine. Talk to anyone of her officials, but not Arafat.

        • Re: the message from BetaHound:

It's a good start. Now we have to emphasize to them that we need to get more out of this war because we've put so much into it, or else we won't settle for peace.
I know that they will not disband Eliopolis. They look at it as their absolute last line of defense. However, there are a lot of other things that we could get from Vox. Here are a few examples:

          1. Catapults - they have three already. We can demand these as compensations for the troops that we've lost. Heck, we could ask for 5 catapults.
          2. Slaves - these will be handy. Vox doesn't need many workers since they've got few worked tiles and little territory to improve anyway. We can demand several slaves in a peace agreement.
          3. Chances for a great leader - we want another GL out of this war, right? Well, perhaps we could take a shot and demand that Vox moves, say, 5 unupgraded warriors into flats near the spinebreakers, and then take shots at them with our WCs. Against 5 warriors, we have a ~30% chance of getting at least one great leader. Of course, this is a gamble.
          4. Negative war weariness - with the negative war weariness that we got from Vox, we can keep Hurricane and EotS happy with just 10% lux instead of 20%. We can demand that the in-game state of war between our two civs remains, so that we will maintain this bonus.

Btw, peace with Vox = trade with Bob. Once we road to D'Ville, we'll be able to use the harbor in Wittlich and trade with GoW, ND and RP.

I can't remember exactly, but wasn't this kind of thing declared to be an exploit (and therefore cheating) when we were discussing such things before the game started?

I could easily be wrong (it was such a long time ago), but that's my recollection.

            • The GL thing is sketchy - and I'd expect it's beyond the pale.

              • FP: Maybe, I wasn't here back then.
Anyway, I'm 99% sure that they wouldn't agree to such a ridiculous condition. It's not cost-effective anyway, we could ask for 4-5 slaves instead. It was just an idea.

                • I would oppose the GL farming with Vox knowing it. Maybe we didn't ratified it as cheating, it surely isn't going to win us any popularity contests. We've got other ways of farming, no need for this.
