He's not playing it tonight, so there's time for more of our feedback.

    • Aeson, what I had in mind was the following: place 2 empty fleet so that the leftover attackers can be chained towards Zargonia. If there are troops that can be missed, they could leave some tanks (e.g. 8 of them) on a transport, but they should land all marines. This way, they can't lose the settler underneath their stack.

Next turn, the city is built, and 3 cities are threatened. No matter how hard Lego's attack was, some marines should survive... meaning 3 cities which need defense (the marines will of course also threaten Dye fields and Jackson, so these can't be empty either, no matter how much pillaging occured, and how many tanks were destroyed)

They could add to this, by doing the same as us: leave most of their ships within reach of arts. They should have enough ships nearby to make sure they can always chain some units around.

I'm not certain on the exact positions of GoW, though, or I could suggest some chaining positions. It won't cost them anything to keep those ships nearby.

      • Can't Lego pillage around the LZ after their attack? So they'll get the blitz benefits then cut the RR & Road with explorers or conscripts.

        • They can pillage afterwards, yes. But the same happens: they are going to need to spend units on pillaging. The only units which can safely retreat are mobile units, and those are also their primary attackers. Other units (infs and so on) will be open for counter attack, and will be kind of thrown away, as they will easily fall for our tanks (giving us blitz, btw). We need them in the open, so let them do the pillaging.

          • BTW, what are we going to do about tech exchange? If we are going to send computers next turn to GoW and ND, wouldn't it be best if we have confirmation on the deal? We haven't heared anything on this from MZ yet, especially not if it would be possible to get our money in 3 turns time.

Also, I wonder how it is going to go with the rubber, and if MZ is going to send us the screenshots from ND, and their WM. Maybe best to remind him of all this?

            • I am anixous to see what occurred on GoW's turn. I hope the fared well and put lots of pressure on Lego. It won't be long now till we get a battle report.

              • I'm thinking on what is going to happen once Lego plays its turn. We should assess the situation, and put some kind of mutual battle plan together before playing our turn. What we see now is that we give ideas to GoW, and they seem to take our advice to heart, however this is not ideal. In a way, we restrict GoW by the choices we make without their consent. And we depend on them as well, as we envision them doing something, and anticipate that in our movements.

For next turn, if Lego would go for GoW, it could be possible that GoW does not see any options to take a city, and is forced to withdraw. Knowing something like this is critical for what kind of defense we need to deploy. So, before we do any major, critical action, I would like to put a broad plan together, and send it to GoW. In return, I would like to ask that they analyze the Lego battle report, and give us some options on how they can proceed.

In case Lego didn't fully attack either invasion stack, this is less of a problem. In case there is focus, we should negotiate on what is going to happen before we play.

                • I just saw the pic MZ sent us. Damn... I'm not certain if it would have been possible, but I would have loved to see that second stack 2 tiles South. Now, it won't threaten Zargonia, and there is no way to chain troops into Zargonia. So, Lego only has 5 cities which need protection. Together with major pillaging, this means we won't make any big breakthroughs next turn, while they can reinforce their troops.

Sigh... Not so good. Let's hope we will catch a break next turn, so we can put those settlers to good use!

                  • Lego's battle report will be... interesting.

                    • Lets hope it is favorable for a change. They are going to be under a lot of pressure. I have to agree that whomever is making the moves is doing quite well.
