Ah well, and so it ends.

SS was about to finish Newton's next turn in Suntanland and begin our GA. We had built about 30 or so Knights and had another 20 Horsemen ready for upgrade. Had you attacked us, you might have found us to be a rather dangerous target. Despite our appearance, we actually had a rather large army and pretty high support costs (mainly Workers) - but we also had really well-developed infrastructure to pound out high science. We weren't many turns away from the Industrial Age.

In addition to our military we had around 90 Workers which would be added to cities shortly, catapulting us into first in every category. The plan in the forum, oh, about a year ago was to have a Cavalry force of around 60 before anyone could attack us - probably wouldn't have made that, but we should have been okay.

    SS save password is "Darkness".

Trip, you surely would not have added all 90 workers to your cities - for 2 reason, one of which was that you would have maxed out at size 12 before hand, the other was that you were so close to rails it would be folly to add them all - atleast until you finished the rails.

And on that note - damn, you were close. It looks like it would have been a real race to ToE and Hoover this time. What with both our teams about to blow our GAs, and the fact that we would have had 2 teams researching at our end, and you would have had to research by yourself...but that is without taking into account any possible attacks from MAST and Tabemono, but then they were busy wiping out LL, so it would have been an entertaining game, if it could have moved at a decent speed. But alas...

PS, I'll probably comment more tonight when I can access the save...
You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

Ahh, now I see why you so readily agreed to that Wines for Iron trade, Trip.
        Seriously. Kung freaking fu.

It would've been interesting to see MAST take on SS, because I honestly don't know how Tabemono would've responded. And those are the most fun situations, aren't they?
I make movies. Come check 'em out.

So, we're still waiting for the Monkey, LL and Python passwords...

All of them? No, but maybe 1/3 to 1/2 of them. The primary disadvantage SS was running the entire game was being very far behind in population. Even after my massive expansion plan gave us the most land area we still only had a couple cities of significant size. We were still pretty far behind in MFG (3rd or 4th) though we could attain 1st or 2nd in GNP if we maxed science. However, we were no where near our population threshold so the Workers coupled with the GA were designed to give us an insurmountable advantage. That in itself poses risks though, as soon as the other teams discover this little tidbit...

Research by ourselves? Not necessarily. We were certainly keeping our cards close to our vest but working with Tabemono and MAST was certainly planned, particularly if some alien units ended up appearing from no where. Our primary risk was having someone attack us before our Knight force was built and before our economy was put into 1st place. After that the diplomacy game takes over. Had you struck maybe 10 turns earlier you likely would have hit SS critically, but we were entering the point where we could compete with the other teams in the game reasonably.

Before that SS was pretty weak in terms of both economy and military. It was quite remarkable that we ended up with such a big tech lead - it must be because everyone else was saving funds for upgrading or something, because Libraries aren't that potent. Plus we had those 30 Knights we upgraded ourselves.

Oh by the way, could Tabemono send us the save from the last turn (assuming it's still around, unlike Civ 3 ). I formatted my own computer and am not sure if I have any left any more.

Trip, I doubt we were going to attack Sunshine. Or did you have any forces where LL used to reside?

Ekhm, let me ask again. Do you know Wanda?

You could atleast make your password known, and not just hint at it. Some of us aren't that good at picking up hints, or have our minds on other things...

I believe the last save went from MaST to Tabe.

Oops, it went to Tabe all right but not from MaST, we used to *recieve* the saves from Tabe...

It was CoD who sent the last save.

                            • Hey trip, do you reckon it would be possible for you to make the map of the PTWDG2 into a scenario for the CIV expansion? And what about all of the past demogames maps as well?
