DR is gone. Everyone can think what they want about that. I think I understand Aqua's feelings on this. His comments seem to resonate with other demogame players -- like it or not, people share his point of view. Quite a few actually.

Clearly something is broken in the demogame gaming structure. I will leave every reader to consider what that may be. There's no need to cast aspersions or fuel an emotional debate about it.

It is a sad day when people choose to take the path that Desolation Row has taken. It matters not if it was logical or ethical, nor if the reasons they choose to were caused by logical or ethical breakdowns. What matters is that they are gone.

Perhaps they believe that their ideal of the demogame experience is the only valid one...perhaps they believe that the Horde's is not on some list of "valid" ways to play. It does not matter which. The point is they no longer felt the desire to compete in this game.

I, for one, am saddened by this. Much fun could have been had in strategizing the hoped for war with them.

This is a common argumentative flaw.

It is regularly seen in sports, "Well we may have run up the score, but so does your team!" This does not validate that either instance is the right thing to do nor whether the original commentator is somehow "contaminated" by having been soiled by malfeasence in the first place.

An attempt at justifying an action by claiming that someone else did it first is a logical fallacy. Both instances can be wrong, or, both can be right, or one right and one wrong.

I am sorry to contradict you in a public forum, and I do not mean to belittle you because you are an intelligent person with frequent well though out statements.

However, you are wrong in this matter. One cannot justify a bad action by claiming that someone else did it first. Each is an individual instance that must be judged.

You may dislike me or not want to give credit to what I say, but this is not a matter of opinion.

Second, you perverted the statement posted in this thread. It was not meant to justify our actions. It was meant to establish that those who did the same morally questionable things in the past have no moral right to pass judgments on others.
