  • Marcus Koreanus - Imperial Report

    (AI turn and Production Phase)
Senators, I have reports from our many messengers travelling back and forth across our great empire.
First, the Persian army camped outside Wines to Dye For have attacked but they failed to take the city. No surprise since they brought mostly cavalry. The ships that brought them to the island quickly left after the attack, leaving the badly damaged army to its fate. So much for Persian honour!
Messengers also tell me that Celtic ships have been sighted passing the Pillars of Hercules and are now in the Internum Mare. For what reason, nobody knows? Lost, perhaps? We need some ships to help them find the long road to the dark Underworld where they can join their many comrades.
Our lone British settlement Vesontio has been attacked by the Celts. They have been repelled by our many strong troops led by the General Marcus Victorius. It also appears that a leader of extraordinary ability has arisen in that town. His name is Scipio and I am sure we will be hearing more about him in the future.
Most of the other news is of little importance and I will not concern you with it. We have produced more troops and we are building infirmaries in a couple of cities to help with growth. Also, rebellions have been put down in several of our recently conquered territories.
I have issued orders and will tell you the results soon.

Definately use Scipio in some way. Your the emperor, you decide.

On the mainland, an army would be a no-brainer. But perhaps there's a really expensive city improvement???

Rebellions put down = cities fliping that had to be reconquered???

Or our you saying you didn't micromanage the happiness.

And were the legions able to road the dye afer repelling the Persians?

I have suggested long ago to get every military unit out from Wines to Dye For to deny persians from trrop landing and solve the problem once. There are no amphibious units in this game, right?

The legions will build the roads and with 1-2 workers the island will be improved.

I should have said 'resistance' and not rebellion. Sorry. No, none of our cities culture-flipped.
Scipio will be used. Be patient, I'm reporting one step at a time.

Since this game has "accelerated production" turned on and there are no remaining wonders, the most expensive improvement is the infirmary. Which really isn't that expensive.

          Make an Army.

              Improvements are no longer useful.

Build an Army, get it to the mainland, and crush our enemies!

                (35 AD)

This year has been a busy one for our legions. Celtic spearmen camped outside of Brundisium and, it being rather cold this winter, I sent them some fire. By onager. Some of their men were killed but they have not moved away.
Burdigala on our northern frontier was the scene of very intense fighting. No less then five units of Gallic swordsmen were killed by our legions and the Maximus Equites army. A glorious day for Rome it was. I ordered many kegs of wine sent to the soldiers of that town for their hard work.
Conius and another legion stormed Hallein and put it to the sword. I regret to announce that the troops became over excited and did away with all the inhabitants. The offenders have been punished. Nearby Gallic swordsmen were attacked by one of our legions but routed before we could destroy them all. No matter; we can hunt them down for sport.
New Alesia was also attacked and taken by our army stationed there. The inhabitants were happy to see us and offered no resistance. I think this says something about the tyrannical rulers of the Celts! We took 23 gold from the coffers of the city. I think we should use the gold to help the people of that town.
Although we have completed our conquest of Spain, our advances into northern Europe were less successful. At Gergovia we lost a legion and the rest of our troops are in seriously bad condition. Reinforcements are on the way but I fear a counter attack by the Celts could be disastrous. Because of this setback, I have decided not to prepare troops for an attack on Persia but am sending them north to fight the Celts.
You will be happy to learn that the Persian troops on Wines to Dye For Island have been removed and a legion sent to build a road to the dyes. I know many of you have been anxious that this be done for some time.
In other news, Sycthian troops have been sighted to the east of Megara. I will keep you notified about this situation.

Alas, setting up my tutoring business has proven very time consuming. I had better give up my term in the interests of the empire. I've placed the sacred save in the appropriate thread.
                          Who is next?

I see my plans to remove another Emperor from my path to power has been fruitful yet again!

                            ** cough, cough **

I am ..ahh... sorry to see you go with such short a term (turn wise). Best of luck to you in your future endeavors. I like your storytelling. I only hope that mine will sound as good as yours.

                            I wonder who's next?
