So it looks like a 5 billion year old wet temperate large Pangaea with 60% water.

What civ are we gonna play?

Pangaea 60% seems to win the day, but other things are undecided yet. We don't know if we'll have a random or definite age / temperature / climate, and we don't know whether the map will be huge or big.

Besides, we haven't decided the difficulty level yet. Granted, I think we could vote on that right now, instead of waiting for this here poll to end. I'll open the difficulty poll now. Edit: done

          RANDOM!!

Spiffor is right. Knowing the geography ahead of time really takes something away from the game. Make it a large or preferably huge map, and everything else random. But especially the geography - random.

We're playing a Feudal system, let's make sure the map has playable settings so we don't find out 30 turns into it that we CAN'T EVEN PLAY A FEUDAL concept like what happened to the Feudal Team in MZO's DemoGame.

            Oh, and

            WET!

Wouldn't it be better to nail down how many oppo first? That goes a long way toward deciding map size, doesn't it?

              Have we already decided that?

Not yet. I thought the maximal # of enemies for the map size went without saying, but I must admit this perception was based on my habits...

Maybe the # of enemies should be asked in a "finishing touch" poll, asking things such as AI agreesivity, Barbarian level, etc

                    So, here are the results:

                    SIZE: Large
                    GEOGRAPHY: Pangaea
                    WATER COVERAGE: 60% (minimum)
                    CLIMATE, TEMPERATURE and AGE: Random

                    Thanks for voting

Keep in mind that one demogame has failed on a huge map, simply because of lack of computer power.

Make sure this does not happen again when we enter the modern ages.

I thought we were going with Large instead of Huge?

Yes we are. But the risk is still there. If you have many opponents, and a slow computer, it might just not be feasible.

I assume we take 11 opponents on a large map, which is the max? So then I think it will be OK on most computers. (It should be at least )
I always play with the max opps on my maps, but probably not everyone does so we will need to see about that.

I'm thinking more like 23 opponents. What ACTUALLY slows down the computer is the sheer number of units, cities, and other things it has to keep track of. That's why the game slows down in the later game due to all the units the civs have accumulated.
