I agree with Panag about a massive invasion fleet! Can I be Grand Admiral? Please?

Japan reaally is isolated. Shortest assault from Zululand is still 8 moves to possible Amphib assault on Sado and 9 moves to dock after success.
Sado is on a hill and shows size 6, but will probably be larger if and when we get there. Figure Infantry for sure. This will be a tough nut.
Another possible is New Kyoto, also showing size 6 but on Plains. This one is 10 moves from Zululand for Amphib assault and 11 moves to dock after success. This makes it a 3 turn crossing for Transports.
Hence it really doesn't matter if we take Zululand first, cause there won't be any round tripping the transports either way.
And this only gets you to their small southern Island. There is still another Amphib Assault required to reach the big island and the silks. But this crossing is short and hence can be round tripped.
Japan's only rubber resource is under the city of Kozuke which has no harbor and is on the small island. There are 4 harbors on the small island so we would most likely need to secure the town to take their rubber.
Amphibous Assault looks difficult here. A better approach may be to plant a transport full of Infantry on a mountain somewhere on the Island that is reachable by their rail grid. There are several candidate sites. This should draw their attackers to the mountain. They may take down 8 Infantry on a Mountain, but they will surely have massive losses. Next turn we land elsewhere ideally threatening Kozuke with our main force say 3 transports worth of Tanks and more Infantry and begin naval bombardment. Once we have a city we rush an airport and can bring in reinforcements.
A big undertaking for sureI used to be a builder. That was before I played Civ III
