  • New political party

Friends, associates, members of the Senate

    *applause*

I look out on the population here before me and I am dismayed. I declare the strong nation of Apolyton is in trouble. The enthusiasm and commitment that made our country so great is now just a faint memory. Where once great leaders stood, there are now empty places. Our glorious capitol of Apolyton is empty, save for the few dedicated and couragous souls who refused to give up on their country.

Where is our strength? What has happened? Where are the Hawks, the D.I.A., the A.R.E., and the A.R.G.? Many have fled our shores and begun anew in a distant land full of Roleplayers, Warmongers, Legolanders, Luxians, Controllis, Stormians and Demogyptians.

But they have forgotten their origins. Some have returned, some have not. They will come, in time, for the Great Banana will call upon them one day.

It is at this crossroads that I have decided two things. What are they, you may ask? Please, I cannot speak above all the applause.

First,I'd like to announce today my founding of the Apolyton Labor Party (or LP for short). The Labor Party shall be a cornerstone for the working class, a voice that will be heard. We will return this nation to it's former grandeur!

    *applause*

I'd also like to announce that it is through this new, great vessel that is the Labor Party that I shall run as Supreme Military Commander for the 7th Term Elections. I accept my nomination as your new SMC, and shall carry the duties of that glorious office out to the best of my abilities. Thank you for your support and best wishes to all. May all wayward Apolytons return to their homeland, and may the brave and devoted souls who stayed on to lead the nation be blessed.

The Labor Party is accepting all who wish to join us, in hopes that we may bring about more involvement in the affairs of our great nation. To win back those who have left our shores and exiled themselves. Want to sign up? Sign up here!

My job in the non-governmental institution (organization and all) is almost done. Soon I'll be back to the maps... and I'm a member of the "Partido dos Trabalhadores" (the Labor Party), PT for short, here in Brazil!
      May I join?

I denounce this so-called "Labor Party" as no more than a front for Meshelic and other Hawks! I would support a labor association, as long as it is not political.

It seems kind of weird for a party named the "Labor Party" to have well known advocates for war.

The Labor parties that sprunk up in Western Europe in the first quarter of the 20th century were all dovish parties, calling for peace and solodarity of workers across international boundaries, pointing out that workers in France had more in common with workers in Germany than they do with the owners of capital in France. (This was during the Great War)

A real Labor party would have the following positions in the game:

              1. They'd be against any war, even the upcoming German war.

              2. They'd also be against the building of Factories that make wage slaves out of citizens that used to be independant farmers.

              3. They'd be advocating government supplied help for the sick. (Building of Hospitals)

              4. They'd be against the construction of Police Stations which break up the workers protests.

              5. They'd also be against mobilizing the economy for war.

                  Meshelic for SMC!

I applaud any party trying to revitalize the game, but I'm frankly skeptical any one entity - even a party - can accomplish that. How do you intend for the Labor Party to go about this?

I thought of the correct name for this party:

The Bull Moose Party. (Splinter of the Republican Party in 1912 afer TR didn't like how his successor was running the office.)

TR was highly pro-war, and called for the US to back England and France when they declared war on Germany, so it would be a very approative name considering that Germany is next on the hit list.

You may denounce until you are blue in the face, but the facts remain: I have left the Hawk Party completely and do not choose to be associated with them any longer. My days as a Hawk are gone, permanently. Nor is this a Hawk conspiracy. That is the truth.

And for those who wish to define my Labor Party under their own false generalizations, you do not have my permission to declare what the party stands for, regardless of what REAL Labor parties stand for in real life. This is not real life, and as such I have the freedom to design ANY agenda for ANY party I create, regardless of name.

....and you'll see that I have in fact named this party correctly, for as yet I have not announced the goals of this party, other than to re-unite the country. The remaining goals will be announced in the Labor Party Charter, coming soon.

Umm... okay. (You know, that quote sounds pretty diabolical when taken out of context. )

Interesting. I guess us stubborn independants would be advised to wait and learn all of the party's positions before considering joining, then.

I did not plan on sounding diabolical! Just that I am very confident in my party achieving the goals of its charter. In small ways, I have already achieved some success in my plan, and it has only been 14 hours or so since I began.

There is a big clincher to this action, however. Some of you shall see it, and it will elude you. Some of you will see it and it shall make total sense, although it will NOT be obvious. Time will tell, time will tell.

(...trying not to sound devious again...)
