I respectfully disagree with using joining date or number of posts to determine a winner. I don't see it as being fair, but rather as putting a preferance on those of tenure.

Rock Paper Scissors, Pick a Number, Flip a coin...I see those as completely fair, unbias, easy and quick.

But, that is just me.
