  • Please accept my apology.

I must apologize to all my fellow citizens of Apolitania.

last night, I had downloaded the save posted by timeline for the year 1100bc. This was the save after we had declared war, but was interupded due to technical dificulties.

After I got home, I discovered that we had continued and concured the american city of washington. Excelent news. I started to download the 1025 bc save, but didn't finish. My cousin (only 12 years old) is visiting me, and he wanted to make a phone call to his parents.

This morning, I forgot that I aborted the download, and I opened the latest save we had to get up to date information. After I opened it up, I recieved a phone call and left the computer unatended.

My cousin, seeing the game up, proceeded to begin playing. He has a copy of Civ3 at home, so he quickly figured out what was going on. He captured washington, and proceeded to play several turns past 1025 (to about the year 900 I believe). Despite the fact that he plays like crap, I didn't notice anthing at first.

I made a couple of posts, with the faulty information that I had, regarding future events. Although I do not think the information significant, it is a clear violation of what we are doing here. As this is the situation, I shall not post anything regarding strategy until the game goes past the 900bc mark. Unfortunately, after reviewing my other posts, I see that it is too late to edit them and remove any contamination, as others have already discussed my ideas without knowing the fact that it is based on faulty information.

I hope that by posting this apology, you, the citizens of Apolotiana shall forgive me. If you, as a society, feel it appropriate to punish, I shall gladly submit and throw myself upon the mercy of our new court.

As the great Banana forgives our transgressions, I shall forgive thee by his example. However, I do not speak for all of Apolytonia and so my prayers our with thee, Godking, and I hope others hear your apologies with compassion.

          jdd2007;

yes, the little brat has been introduced to the addictive pleasures of apolyton. Unfortunately, his parents refuse to allow him to do anything on the internet until he turns 16 (in the hopes that once he can drive, he will not spend all his time looking up porn I presume...).

Thanks you all so far for your forgiveness.

When people voted to have the save available to everyone, they assumed that this problem would emerge (I hope? I think?), so I suppose it'll be okay since that kind of thing was expected. As long as things aren't blatantly biased or your comments causing clear problems, I don't see this becoming a major issue (hopefully nothing will happen before the next turnchat ).

That idea is horrible. My most productive age on the internet was 14. I helped to run SidGames.com. Probably no loss though, since I wasn't anything like him when I was 12.

i say we string up the kid!

nah, seriously, i dont think a few turns will make much of an impact, unless you traded maps with someone on another island / explored uber isle / what have you.

                it'll be ok

Godking, its not a problem since YOU didn't intentially do anything. Think of it as a psychic message from the great banana.

Being seperated from your porn would be painful, I know, but some parents are just that way.

/me is pleased he lives away from home.

GodKing - no worries. I sincerely hope everyone sees you as the sensible poster you are, and if anyone brings this up before the court, just let me know who to... "take care" of. If you have an issue with forgetting things you saw that may have been relevant (eg map info), may I advise a Tequila night?
