I, as the mayor of delphi county, would like to welcome our apolytonian visitors in my district.
You could stay in one of our fine resorts in the spice bay recreational area. Maybe you even find the time to visit our first national park!

That looks nice, almost like home with the fjords and the setting along the shore.

Aswell as an embassy we could do with a spy, or diplomat if you like, in phonetica to take ideas and learn from the game played by the phoneticans.

For eaxample I see you have some kind of province system. It would be good to know how that works exactly for later ion our game.

We do use a provincial system. Province borders are proposed and approved by general consent. A governor is elected for each province each turn. If a province is acquired mid term the cities there are run by the Domestic Advisor. If a governorless province grows to 3 cities, a governor is appointed. Governors set the build queues for all of the cities within their province.

Hmmmn a different system to ours.
                    At the moment anyway.
We olny have 4 cities but all build queues are handled by a minister for city planning.

"A govenor elected for each province each turn" surely you mean each term.

I would also be interested to know how your court system works.

I see you have what appears to be a prosecutor and defender?

Did you ever encounter a problem, similar to the one in our recent presidencial election, of numbers of non-members voting.

                        Yes, I meant "term".

We started out with the Domestic Leader also being the governor of the capital province. Essentially where you are right now. We had planned for governors right from the start though. It was only recently that the gubernatorial powers were removed from the Dom Leader and the capital province became elligible for an elected Provincial Governor.

Our court system is a triumvirate with a Chief Justice (me), Public Defendant and Judge Advocate. Primarily we are involved in verifying the constitutionality of various rule changes and clarifying aspects of the Constitution. We have not had an investigation or trial since implementing a judicial body.

Any citizen can prosecute another for a violation of the rules (Constitution, Code of Laws or Code of Standards) by filing charges with the Judge Advocate. The JA then handles the mechanics (setting up threads and polls) of the investigation so everything is neutral. The JA will also act as a stand-in prosecutor if the accuser wishes to remain anonymous. The Public Defender is available to help the accused during all aspects of the trial (legal advice, insights into the rules, etc). The Chief Justice can fill either roll if necessary (if one of the other justices is gone or must recuse himself for conflict of interest reasons, etc.)

                            To the Provinces:
The sense behind it was to get more citizens actively involved. Thats also the reason why we have mayors now.
The idea is that the mayors controll their city and know it in detail. They give requests to their governors. The governors have the overview of the province and accumulate the information from the mayors and collect info from cities without mayors. After refining this information, they give their input into the turn-chat-thread as requests for this province, including worker assignment, citizen moods, bulild queues etc.
The domestic leader+deputy have the general overview over the nations needs in total. They have authority over the orgaizational offices (like census, chat, etc.) and any other domestic matter. Also, they are responsible for the "rushing budget" and the fiscal situation of the nation.

I like the idea of city mayors perhaps not to have too much say in building etc, or every mayor would want a wonder. But the idea of someone in charge of a city who knows it in detail would be good for micromanagement. A mayor could know in detail things like the attitude of all his citizens and would be a good way of managing things like civil disorder easily.
As well as adding to the realism of the game a bit too.

That's probably a good idea for later. But at a time when we have about 7 cities max, we wouldn't have too many mayors.
But I really admire the amount of micromanagement and roleplaying you guys are doing in the CFC forums. You seem to really be getting into it.
