I don't know much about this country Apolytonia, for I've only been a citizen for a few weeks, but I do know I can bing my wisdom of the armed forces to this country and whip the Apolytonian army in shape. I've been playing Civilization for years, and I've been playing CivIII ever since it came out. If you vote for me, I will guarantee that the army will do all that it can do to defend the great country of Apolytonia.

I announcing my running for Minister of the Military under no political party.
    Peace Out!!!

    Ben Berman

Well, I really don't like abbreviations nor complaining.
I said party abbreviations. Not abbreviations in general.

Alright, if you're too busy to run, I understand. Trust me, I know how that can be.

Keep in mind everyone, only a day and a half until the elections begin, so if you want to run, better do it quick. And all candidates look over the list at least once, to make sure you're on the list. Despite the beliefs of many, I'm not a perfect entity, and I might miss your request to be added.

Curious. Neither UFC nor DIA can run a full slate of candidates. This bodes well for our republic.

I think NYE meant it was good because neither party can gain full control.

I will run for Minister of Science,
if I am elected I will make sure that whatever we do, we try to get into the next era as soon as possible, hencoforth getting all the advances linked to that, as soon as we have our first era completed, we can focus on
                        1. things that allow scienitific structures, i.e. libraries and universities,
or 2. things that make money, banks etc.

In both ways there is more money to be assigned to science, because without science there is nothing. you can build as much warriors as you want but you won't win from an infantry. That's why, if elected I'll do anything to make science develop as fast as possible...
                        Peace!
Sympathy is what we need my firend cuz there's not enough love to go 'round...

CHanged my mind, I AM going for science advisor. I promise detailed polls. I will look IN ADVANCE at potential tech trades, and poll the people so that we have at least some idea of whether a trade would be acceptable. THis will strengthen the voice of the people, instead of the govt being the only ones that decides tech trades.

Since science is going very slow right now, I think other candidates' promises about doing things to increase science are somewhat irrelevent. Building science buildings is the job of the city planner anyways, and we wont get many of those buildings for a while

Civman has a point here. In the current state of the game the overwhelming majority of advances will be gained by trades and by the sword (yea, or the arrow). So the Science advisor has probably only to decide what techs we buy, since the beaten up civs will us always give all they have.

                              i agree.

it is better this way. plus, all the candidates are very qualified. i would rather have a qualified dia member in office than an unqualified ufc member...

                              [did that make sense]

I would encourage the Science Minister candidates to form a campaign thread. I could not find one, even through the search engine, and it would be helpfull once elections open to point to one directly rather than this general thread.
