Anthem of our Great Nation

Now that were getting a flag, i dont see why we shouldnt have an anthem. it would give us a sense of pride in apolytonia (hopefully). i suggest we take a song that we all like (or most of us )and we replace the lyrics with ones that fit us. we could have a contest to see which lyrics would be the best. any suggestions for songs. we should all know the song.

Well since we are egypt, why not have the Egyptian Anthem?

A song everybody knows (or I assume so) is Ode to Joy, by Beethoven. Its most grandiose moments will perfectly fit when we'll rightfully crush our enemies !

Good suggestion, however, to me it just doesn't really seem like 'anthem material'.

Plus, do we really want to be like the EU?

The biggest problem of EU is its "consensus culture". Many other anthems, who have precise historical reasons to be so : for example, Boris Ieltsin decided alone what the Russian anthem would be, and Wladimir Putin decided it would turn back to the Sovietic one.

But our anthem is not decided by a few people, or by a precise historical occurence. So I feel Ode to Joy is the best (or rather the "least bad") choice for this : everybody knows the music, and it can have a grandiose feel which is good in an Anthem.

Everyone knows the music, yes, but whenever I hear the EU anthem, I think its just ackward. It doesn't sound like an anthem. It sounds like a classical composion that was selected to be an anthem because it's name is "Ode to Joy"It sounds nothing like an anthem, and it doesn't really invoke a response from me.

However, I think we should leave this up to the people. So, I ask again: When are we going to create a poll?

A poll like :
"Group A : Egyptian anthem"
"Group A : Ode to joy"
"Group A : (other idea suggested in this thread)"
"Group B : no anthem at all"

would be in order. I think we should take some time, for people to come up with more ideas.

Unfortunately, this is in Swedish, so I guess it's not suitable as our anthem.
However, I hereby nominate these brave men as the National Heroes of Apolytonia. I think their heroic deeds are quite obvious
