Should we be prepared to abandon a bunch of cities to get the palace where it should be ? It seems to be very risky.

it would be very smart to keep the city , it has a large amount of food , and the regular grassland can in the future be forested , ..... , even if its not going to be a capital , keep it , more or less like a "forward operations base" .

If/When we find a large enough area to settle, with place for the usual 20+ cities, the corruption will kill us. When we disband Apolyton, the palace is being automatically built in another city, in the new land. If we dont disband Apolyton, we'll have to move the palace "manually" and this will be a waste of time.

I would suggest not to build lots of improvements in Apolyton until we find an adequate site for our new capital. Then we should abandon Apolyton by producing a settler, in order to make the palace jump, and immediately found New Apolyton with this settler.

We haven't determined that yet. And we're not yet near in the position to decide that yet. I'm sure there'll be a poll asking whether to abandon Apolyton to instantly move the palace, or simply start building a new palace.
