  • How man turns should we play a week?

Poll expires in 3 days (we gotta get this game started).

Results will be averaged by our crazy Apolytonion mathematician.

Keep in mind that what you vote shall be considered the maximum amount of turns the president is allowed to play in a week. A limit is necessary so that there is time for decisions to be made by the people and Ministers on our course of action.

You should have put "he can play as many turns in a week as he eats bananas".
Seriously though, I think that 4 turns is good on average (in the late game). That allows the Ministers to give some general directions, but not oversee every last move he makes, and lets the game roll along. Remember, that's only (ack) 16 turns per month. However, I feel that in the very early game, more turns should be allowed. Why should we have a turnchat for the first turn, for instance? Give some general directions, and post a screenshot of what you can see every turn from 4000 BC until about 2000. Then things can get more interesting.

I think 3 is a nice number. Allows us to move along without losing control of everything.

I don't believe that number of turn chats/week has been decided yet. Has your turnchat poll concluded? If so, I will post polls that my diswcussions has anticipated.

I think as many as possible in the early game, who wants to wait around for weeks before we even found our first couple of cities and make contact with other civs? As it gets more complex, its gonna need to slow down to give ministers time to post polls and the citizens time to vote.

as many as we can, because polls should take 2 days minimum.

so if you think about it, we might get 1 or 2 turns out a week, maybe a few more early on.

but i suppose the polls could be more generalized, and we could give the prez a general idea of what to do for 5 turns or so...

I think we should let the president to play the first 20-30 turns in a fashion agreed by us(I guess it'll be REX) and then we'll make 2 turn chats every week, with 2 turns played every turn chat.

I agree with Eli on this so I didn't vote. The first turns should be played during a turn chat to get the game rolling. And then slow it down I really don't care at what speed it goes.

I believe it was Trip who suggested that the early centuries be played out fairly rapidly. Typically these turns take mere seconds to play, and it would be rediculous to sit around and debate for a whole day that which will happen in the blink of an eye. However, the later turns can take up to a half an hour and so would need more planning from the cabinet and citizenry. I'm voting for one a day, since that is a maximum and it'd be a waste to have a few days left in a week with nothing to do. If the early turns were to go faster, that's fine by me.

Turn a day wont work because the polls must last at least two days.

We need 5. Even with that, it would take more than a YEAR to play ONE game (there are 400 turns, right?)!
