    Everyone votes, but according to KruX's suggestions the people in the cabinet will be the one with the final power, and power to override poll results (but doing so, and it turns out bad will probably not grant you the position for long).

      a secretary of the treasury to assign gold-funding levels to the different departments.
      ]

      I think that's a good idea as they can choose tax levels, say how much should be spent on buying techs/resources or hurrying production etc.

        ok, but then as long as I'm among the people (for now ), then I have nothing to fear? Or am I getting something wrong?

          Well, when you are a citizen you have no power other then to vote. Yuo elect the ministers, and they can choose ask you about things in polls. But they don't have to do as you say.

              Yes, a Financial Minister can be good. But that might involve to mush power. (As it would involve distruburating both the tressuary and the income to different ministers)

                This "Ministers overruling polling results" idea is nothing but a terrible idea. However, if we do go along with it, we need some indication of how much of the ppl's will is ignored.

                I suggest all decisions taken that are counter to the ppl's wishes need to be justified, and all income/expenditure needs to be presented as a budget so we can see whether the game is played by all of us or just a half dozen of us! Thus we need all polled decisions to be compared with what actually happens.

                This at least means the ppl can vote the offender out after a term, where we have someone who abusees their power.

                  But I guess it's a good idea to start as a citizen, just to get to know, how it all works

                    How about Ministers can only overule if the vote on something is less than a certain ammount?

                    e.g if the vote is which tech to research and Tech A gets 20%, Tech B gets 35% and Tech C gets 45% then the Minister can do what he wants? Or something along those lines.

                      Not a bad idea there, Turambar. But I still think Ministers need to post what their recommendations actually were - and justify them in cases where they deviated from the majority result of the people's votes

                        I don't like that idea eitherr, but maybe allow them to override only if no option gained 50%+

                          sure. any option with < 50% should be able to be "ignored"

                                I believe we should draw up a Constitution.

                                Also, I believe there should be a Cultural Minister, and I would like to run for such a position, should it materialize.
