1. REGENT - because it lets us have some fun too.

2. MONARCH - tough enough to put more at stake when decision making.

Not deity because that allows for a very narrow strat, and the voices of democracy will be crowded out by the experts.

Defeating the AI in the late ancient age is not fun, it's boredom.

not necessarily, some of us like the ancient age best.

btw, defeating ai in late ancient also depends on map size and type. if it's continents or archipelagos on a huge world map with 15 opps, it'll take a while to meet everyone

it's no fun getting trounced by massive ai production advantages on deity either, or of being forced down a certain strat to win. let that be the case for a SP game, this is supposed to be a "democracy" game - the fun is in the domestic discussion and voting.

Emperor : we need a serious challenge, serious crises, and a way to balance the efficient micromanagement we'll make. But it's our first Civ3 democracy game, and there will be inefficiencies... Emperor seems to be the good compromise

If we go for deity, a lot of people who don't play at that level won't be able to participate as much, in effect restricting leadership positions to an elite. We should try and let everyone have a chance at it.

I think monarch would too easy when we are so many people conbining forces. Deity on the other hand would be to difficult for many people including me, we would not be able to participate simply becourse we lack experience on this high level. So I find emperor a good compremise.

Monarch is a better compromise. Emperor is only one level below deity.

Should have thought before you voted

The way I think this poll should be settled is that if emperor and Monarch remain tied then we should go with a run off between the two. If the generally voting pattern remains the same and one of the two wins than it should obviously go to the one with plurality.

Wow, close race.
I'm glad to see that Emperor is winning now though. Like Moral Hazard said, we'll have another poll in the case of a tie. So get your votes in!

Yeah, too bad that 3 other options are poised to take the lead as well.
