The Altera Centauri collection has been brought up to date by Darsnan. It comprises every decent scenario he's been able to find anywhere on the web, going back over 20 years.

Expansion Pack Civs: One more thread... (Let's do this right)
I suggest to combine civs when the second civ is either just a different/recent/politically correct term for the first civ or an "offspring" of the first (with just one of them of prime importance). IMO, that applies at least for:
(Strictly speaking, you´d have to check to what extent the combined civ votes exceed 20 points per voter and reduce the total number of points accordingly.)
I wouldn´t merge civs that are in a sense "subgroups" of another civ (Danish/Skandinavian, Yankees/American) or "mother-and-offspring”-civs when both of them are of prime importance (Rome/Byzantine).
At last, Locutus: Tax your brain only if at least one of the civs in dispute is in the top 20 of your list.
