      I think Artifex is underestimating the effectiveness of GS's against pikemen and Theseus is paying a bit less attention to the cost of such a war than would be ideal. If you have a large force of GS's built up, spending them to gain cities can be a good move. But building additional units to sustain such warfare doesn't seem worth sacrificing marketplaces, aqueducts, and libraries for in my opinion unless you're really desperate for land.
