Oh yeah, there's that part- we did start at opposite ends of a Pangea with the AI between us, but the manipulation of the AI has been a little heavy-handed on my part. Since it was only at Monarch, I guess that makes it an out-and-out exploit... :-/
Enjoy Slurm - it's highly addictive!

[*] The times you can play your turns.[*] How many turns per day you hope to play.[*] Any time periods of planned vacation when you won’t be around[*] Whether you prefer stock or AU mod.[*] The diffculty level you wish to play.

      1) between 17:00 GMT+1 and 00:00 GMT+1 (Nor Me, a wise man once said that British time was the real time)
      2) hopefully as many as are sent to me, at least 3, up to 20
      3) betwwen 7th of August, and the 22nd of August
      4) AU mod
      5) Emperor. With the mod, the tech pace is stupid anyway...

Eh? What does this mean? I looked over the adjustments made to the mod but I must be missing something.

In the mod, certain techs have been given dummy resources (not needed in the game) that improve their worth in the eyes of the AI. Different civs research different techs, trading between themselves, cutting the player out of the loop. effectively, tech choices are a lot more inportant, you can't get maths and trade it for every other tech known to AI.

Alexman, could you make a list of everyone interested?

Better to make the final list after we have at least a map designer, so we know the games are ready to start. Any list compiled now will be incomplete.

Of course, feel free to make such a list if you like.

and what to do if someone doesn't keep the promised pace? it may be quite not being able to compare with other players because one is millennia behind.

The plan is for every pair to keep their own pace. They can read the spoilers only after they have finished their game, but every player posts in his own thread continuously, and receives feedback from neutral observers, or players who have already finished (see the first post). How's that for motivation to finish your game fast?

Hmm. Isn't that why we call it "Greenwich Mean Time", after the city in Britain?

I personally would like to convert to the simpler system of "Chicago Mean Time". Then I wouldn't have to add and subtract silly numbers from my time, and even those in New York could feel superior, ADDING one to the 'mean time' to get their own. And you euro guys could learn to add or subtract just like we've had to all of these years =D

i'm going to reaquest that my game be emperor level.

thinking about it, the no attack part of the game is going to make demi very difficult and i don't want to let my human partner in the game down

Sir Ralph has agreed to make the map.

So far we have 13 who have registered, although not all of them fit nicely in pairs. We will wait a couple more days to see if we get more people before finalizing the matchups.
