    That's right. I was also referring to "dialogue" - the spoken word as against the written. In speech, people tend to abbreviate in the most extraordinary ways. Just as they mispronounce in the most amazing ways - we have several politicians who refer to "guvment". All good grist for the dialogue writer's mill.

      Ah yes, "guvment" what a word for the lexicon! Not to be confused with "govmeant". In the UK crime dramas the senior police officer is often called the "gov".(Governor) So we have lines that go
      "govmeant interview him, not arrest him".
