ok bro....go to zone.com.
click all games on the left hand side
click on civ2 mp
then a pop up appears , click on continue or the black screen stating "this game is no longer supported blah blah" then boom your there

you may need to dl files from the zone, no biggie and the software crap they have, again no big deal.....

Golly.. wish I'd looked at the system requirements before trying to DL the software though.. no macs allowed. So this is what being a minority is like.

not true, many great apolytoners were/are zoners origionally in the old days x2x2 wasn't the rage at the zone

there were (and may still be) many fine zoners, but the childish quitting and whining was (may be) far greater than typically found here

admittedly yes.......but most of the greats came from zone.com at some point or another....

and there will always be whining, have you played with ming lately

All the best players came from the zone. The zone has always been the best place for games and always will be. The game is dead now and has been for some time, it's hard to find a game anywhere but the zone is by far the easiest. Pure Apolytoners have always been known for being lesser players.

Civ2 will never die!

Unless you're talking about really far in the future when there are much better games made by organic computer using sid's dna.

And I think both camps have produced their share of greats over the years... there was a time the zone had ****.

True Graag, but the zone was THE place for civ 2 when it first came out....i remember nights where there were 3digits of players roaming the zone looking for competition

I am sure poly has had its fair share too

i missed those days, by the time i got there 50 was a huge crowd and 30 was more the norm.

now your lucky to see 30 players even on a weekend.....everytime i stroll by i c around 10-18 people there.....

i remember the days of Kaak being in room 5.....and the title stating "i live here" and he did for many days, not losing to anyone who challenged him..... i still remeber the day he was beaten and a guy put a new slogan on room 5 "kaak used to live here"

rivalries were huge back then.....so was "weird" game play too though
