Ok, so that isn't it. Insulting question: you are sure you are using the right IP address right? You have an internal one and an external one. When the client tries to join a game he must enter the external IP of the host. Additionally this external IP may change each time you dial up, depending on your ISP.

    Does that help at all?

The person setting up the game will SEE the IP address that his machine is using as part of the game set up. We just copy it and paste it in ICQ messages to the other players

You will need a utility to tell the host what his external IP is. There may be one packaged with windows......or you can use this site:

Enter that IP when the client tries to join the game the host has set up. Then it will work.

Ming's suggestion may be ok, but in some circumstances (I don't know yours) the IP the game detects is your internal one. Hence the link I provided.

With W98SE you get winipcfg.exe, just run it and it will tell you your ip.

It must be on later windows versions also.

But as Ming said, it does show on the screen when starting up.

Without publishing your icq you won't easily set up games.

It's easy to stay in a game for 30 minutes that is, unless the barbs get to you or you start right on top of somebody. The real trick for newbies is staying in the game Our group uses the setting up IP game thread for setting up game... but we also usually use Rah Rules, so you might want to check out that thread as well to see if you would even be interested
