USA 8pm EST - new game long running game starting this Sat night

WE have too many!
DD can host and Hydey can host. Should we start two games or would some prefer to be available as subs?

Settings consensus thus far:

No alliances
tech trading ?
tech stealing to be encouraged
no city bribe
unit bribe OK but no double moves
Random Med Map (cool, wet, 4 bill?)
Huts - Yes
All Wonders? (Two players would like ONE Wonder per civ)

Being MP we possibly should have some interaction in the Foreign Advisor? Map trading etc is OK. But not ceding cities or militarily co-operating against one civ. And you must declare war on a civ and not get another civ to ask you (to save you revolting).

I will be there tomorrow at 8pm! Hopefully I can get in. I have a preference of NO huts, they don't add anything to the game and an unwelcome element of luck to the "opening". But I will play regardless if there is a spot open.

Let's just say that the core players who discussed this slot for a game are:
DD, deity, Dang, Berz.

So us four are in but DD is thinking he will step back and be a backup because he will be away on several Sat nights.

Hydey is the host so he's in.

So that's Hydey, deity, Dang, Berz.

Depending on who shows at 8pm USA Sat night I suggest the following pecking order:
Hydey, deity, Dang, Berz as definites (4)
Cyber-Spyder (Dr_eamer) posted immediately (number 5)
Makeo replied by icq immediately I posted (number 6)
Slowwhand posted quick (number 7)
Boann posted quick
Zylka - no post but icq message early on
Narz - posted late

I really want to play all of you! So I hope no one is offended.

But really think about it. Are you going to be dead reliable? Will you show each week or at least have a certain sub? Some may double as a sub team.

If 7+ players show up around 8pm we can discuss it in icq and it may be that two games get started if there is another host.

I hope this is a reasonable approach

I hate to see people miss out, but I'd really like a full 7 player game - never had that many before and it would be a very cool challenge. As this time is sun morn for me I can be certain of being home {although not sober}. Also my flatmate {hartster} can sub for me should the unthinkable happen. Did others respond with their vote on the wonders?

I'm a bit hesistant to join, I've been giving up saturday nights now for two months for games that quickly fizzled. I will let others wanting in take my spot and if y'all have less than 7, I will take an open slot. I'll be online at 8 est to see who shows.

It really wasn't any problem last time, I just informed others when I was done moving units so they could attack me lol....it is a real help with so many players.

We start in about an hour and 10 mins...

Turn based is better and clearer. The simul I played is only marginally quicker than turns. Lag increases as everyone moves units at the same time accessing the host.

Also I think we better include all Wonders with only me and Cyber wanting one Wonder.

I think Barbs should be roving because it can wreck some starts if you are unlucky. WE want this to be a long running full game of civ... no one getting knocked out too early.

Will we limit early war to say 2000BC?

I just played a great game where we got to SS and nukes with all players in the running. I'd love to get to the modern era with seven players
