It's the middle of summer. A lot of workplaces shut down from the Friday before Christmas until the first Monday after New Year anyway, but a lot of people take their annual holiday time - maybe 3 weeks - as well, so they don't go back to work till well into January. OTOOH, I'm a freelancer, working from home, so I can holiday during the day - any day - and work at night if I choose.
