      I wouldn't call HG useless... but you can play without it.

      Pyramids... lighthouse... like HG, they serve a purpose.
      If you don't know how to use them...

        too bad we can´t test eyes´ claim anymore, which is -as I think- as daring as my challenge to him was. he told me he will never play any deity games anymore.

        but so it be, one can´t force people to their luck.

          well I'm sure if Eyes is not going to play deity games anymore then he will not be commenting about deity games either.

              I am talking about 1x 1x here. In 2x most wonders are useless. because you would get way further ahead creating trade routes with those cara's

                HAHAHA!!! Ok Markus, you want to play it that way? First we'll play 2x2x, don't even build any wonders and lets see if you can beat me. Then lets play deity 1x1x and I'll let you have pyramids and lighthouse. I get HG and mikes though. Still think you can win? Ask woke and Oedo what lighthouse did for them.

                  I was replying to ming and his settings. On 2x 1x diety pyramids is useless, SOL is useless, bachs is useless. Now in a MP game it doesn't matter to much if you get happies or not, where as in a duel it gives a huge advantage to your production and attacking abilities.

                  Last time we played your civ completely self destructed when you didn't get HG.

                    Exactly. You have to have HG in order to win. And in order to get HG first you have to have the better science. That game you had whales and everything around you. Your capital was a whale anda pheasant. Your second and third cities had whales. My city had wheat and forest. The only whale I had was 10 squares away. Whoever has the better science gets HG first, whoever has HG first wins the game. I rest my case.

                        I think he means deity games.

                        The way I see it HG is useful in MP 1x deity games but not crucial to victory. In duels the balance changes towards Eyes' statement, but there are other happy wonders; Mikes can come quite early, and unless the land is very mismatched one player shouldn't get both.

                            pyramids help both the pre WLT*D and the post WLT*D

                            but obviously are much more beneficial early...especially in those PG games
